Quality of Hush

I've sent two orders back to Hush because the quality was just awful - three dresses and two tops. The finish, material, cut. I totally fell for the mumsnet hype. Why is there such hype? Do they just have a great social media marketing team?

Poor quality for the price unfortunately and their sizing is all over the place. The most annoying thing is that most of their clothes are hand wash only. Presumably in unicorn tears because they look worn after two washes.

Don't like a lot from there but some of their jumper type dresses are really nice. But they go bobbly after little wear. I get sucked in by their styling and usually regret it. I think I'm done with them tbh.

WanderingTrolley1 · 13/10/2018 04:01

Not deserving of the hype.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 13/10/2018 12:57

I'm baffled by the hype too. I've had hareems, Amy dresses, a couple of summer dresses and most recently a black jumpsuit. I will only ever buy in the sale. On holiday the elastic snapped in the back of the jumpsuit on the 3rd wear. The amy dresses have gone bobbly and the summer ones out of shape.

I love the style but the quality is crap imo!

Another one who is baffled by the hype. They style the clothes really well though, which probably has a lot to do with it. I have two of the long 'Nina' cardigans - both a size M, but one is massive, so agree about the weird sizing too - and both have bobbled really badly after very little use and now look like rags. I use them for a warm layer when I'm working from home, but they're not actually that warm tbh, due to the high level of synthetic fibres. I'll never buy knitwear from them again.

SunflowerSally · 13/10/2018 14:27

Yes I think it's poor quality too. I have a pair of three quarter culotte type trousers which I really like but the first time I worse them the seam ripped by the pocket. I stitched it up as I couldn't be bothered to send them back, but I won't be buying again.

JaneJeffer · 13/10/2018 14:30

I bought a few things in the sale. Terrible quality. Costs too much to return from Ireland so I just kept them. A sweatshirt went all baggy in the wash. If I'd paid full price I would have been even more annoyed. First and last time I'll buy from them.

Sallycinnamum · 13/10/2018 14:32

Yes I bought a pair of black harem trousers early this year. Two washes and they started to fade.

I bought some similar trousers from H&M and they've washed so much better than the Hush ones.

oksanas · 13/10/2018 14:55

Very hit and miss.

I've bought a couple of their jersey type things which are fab (wide jersey tops and ivy dress) and I get an awful lot of wear out of them. Despite the unicorn tears washing instructions, I have machine washed and accidentally tumble dried all of them and they're absolutely fine.

However, I think the styling on their website is bloody clever and this does not translate into real life. Unless you are a model.

mrscampbellblackreturns · 13/10/2018 14:58

It is total tat

Bugjune · 13/10/2018 15:13

Expensive, well styled rags.

Their marketing team are dedicated though, I'll give them that. Wink

FabulousTomatoes · 13/10/2018 15:30

I’m a bit jaded by the quality too. I’m happy with the harems though - after H&M ones they felt very indulgent - but I’ve only ever washed them on a speedy 30 and never tumble dried them.
The sweater and T shirt I got earlier in the summer and they are out of shape already despite me waking them gently.

FabulousTomatoes · 13/10/2018 15:30

Washing them not waking lol

Cakemonger · 13/10/2018 15:47

Agree the sizing and fit are all over the place and the clothes often don't look as good in real life as they do online. However, some of my best quality, most-worn basics have also been from them. It's bizarrely hit and miss.

Lemoncurd · 13/10/2018 16:10

I had a lovely dress, but then got a second the same which just fits all wrong. Also a jersey top which went totally out of shape with the first wash and thin and has holes in it. Unlikely to bother with them again.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 13/10/2018 16:21

The jersey dresses are really good and so are some of the jersey tops. If fact the joggers are ok too. But knitwear and polyester stuff is terrible quality.

My other issue with Hush is how quickly they sell out of things but they stay on the website, out of stock, for ages.

Chanelprincess · 13/10/2018 17:49

Hush is absolutely awful. Their products scream high street and are cheap and nasty. No idea why this brand is so overhyped on here.
