Kiss proof lipstick for my wedding

I'm getting married next weekend and I need to find a kiss proof lipstick. Help?

I'm a true winter. Think snow white (pale skin with pink tones, rosy cheeks, dark hair). And I'm over 40 so need something that won't bleed too much or settle in my fine lines.

Lipstick shades I love already:

  • MAC girl about town (prefer this when blotted a bit)
  • Clinique super strawberry chubby stick (basically my natural lip colour)
  • NYX bloody mary (love the shade but a bit drying)
  • MAC sweetie

I can't do anything with orange or coral shades. I need reds and pinks with blue tones. Purple lip shades can clash with my cheeks.

I tried a combination of a NYX lip liner and MAC Girl About Town with Rimmel Lip Lock (better version of lip cote) this morning. It was ok but not quite as good staying power as the Stila ones. I loved the colour though.

Part of the issue is not wanting to be caught in photos with dodgy lipstick half coming off.

So now I'm onto an NYX Full Throttle waterproof lipstick in the Lethal Kiss shade. It's very bright a bright pink with blue tones. It applies well and is matte. Feels a lot like a lip pencil. I'm see how it lasts.

I'm beginning to wonder if my lips don't keep lipstick on as well as most people. Or maybe the way I eat just rubs it off more?

I've used the MAC lip primer stick each time though.

Please excuse the typos, my phone likes to change things after I've typed them

I think the shade you choose has an effect on how long the lipstick lasts - is that a thing? Eg. I have the maybelline in a proper paintbox red and it seems to last (even) longer than the pinker shades. I guess it makes sense as it could be to do with pigment...?

I have found THE ONE.....or THE ONES.

I went to Debenhams and found the Kat Von D counter. They have these really great liquid lipsticks that are very lightweight so they don't seem to dry out the lips. And it stays on really well.

So I'm going with:

Undercoat: Benefit Gogo Tint (so that if the lipstick does wear off its not too obvious) https://www.benefitcosmetics.com/uk/en-gb/product/gogotint

Lipstick: Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the Mother shade https://www.katvondbeauty.com/lip/lipstick/everlasting-liquid-lipstick/23310.html

Top coat: Kat Von D Everlasting Glimmer Veil in the Shockful shade https://www.katvondbeauty.com/lip/liquid-lipstick/everlasting-glimmer-veil/40004.html

(A very light smear on my bottom lip that I press into my upper lip to make both all sparkly)

Without a doubt. Maybelline Superstay 24 Matte Ink Lipstick.

This stuff is AMAZING. I am always on the holy grail for long lasting lipstick/lip paint/lip ink and these beat the lot. They stay on for hours and wear off evenly in my opinion. I can touch them up easily as they are thin (but not watery) and don't go sticky and funny. I used to use Lipcote but after a while it makes your lips white and you have to take the lot off and start again.

These will only come off with some sort of oil based remover, I use Miscellar water with oil or at a pinch, baby oil or a baby wipe.

The colour range is great too. I like 65 for every day, (nude with colour) 70 for a night out (brown as I don't suit berry as it makes my lips look thin) and various of the pinks for a bit of colour. There's one called Dreamer which is a lovely mid pink, if you like pinks.

I have a pet hate of when lipstick wears off the inner lips so you're left with patch colour on the outer lips. This one I fill in all the lips (even the bit just on the inside which is the first to wear off and the first place to show you're wearing lipstick as it is a different colour to your lipstick) and it pretty much stays in place.

The applicator is easy and precise to use.

I've tried all the similar ones on the market and none perform as well as this, for me at least.

The professional who did my makeup put some kind of topcoat on it (looked like a clear nail-varnish pot). Felt really cold (she warned me it would) for a few seconds, then kept my lipstick in place all day!
