I feel like I'm stuck in a rut - don't often wear make up and not sure what I'm doing - I'd like a really basic make up routine with just a few products.

Have got some childfree time next week and got haircut and eyebrow wax booked. Will have about an hour free - is it worth going and asking at the make up counters in stores (have never dared to - I'm 39 but always been too intimidated!). There is a Debenhams, biggish Boots and a Body Shop in the town that I could get to in the time.

Absolutely Grin

I don't wear make-up often, certainly not for work.

I took DD to Debenhams to buy her some Urban Decay foundation - she needed to have it colour matched. The shop was quiet and they gave her a make-up make-over ( foundation, powder, bronzer) not OTT (she's 16 now this was a couple of years ago) .
There was no pressure (though she knew she was going to have the foundation Grin )

Laura Mercier was good too ( John Lewis) tppk ages to find her colour match and did a foundation/powder/blusher make-up.

There are people who'll tell you to stay away from Benefit (unless you like that look) !
