Chelsea boots ankle fit...

I've bought myself my first pair of Chelsea boots. Admittedly aren't expensive (some burgundy leather ones from next).

I can't make my mind up. I tried them one with no socks (do you all wear socks?) and I can feel the elastic quite tight around my upper ankle.

They aren't particularly high. And I do suppose I have chunky ankles Blush.

Is this normal? And they give a little over time? It's just the elastic.
Or is this likely a style that won't work for me? I bought these as the review online said they were a little wide around ankle. I'm not that fat (size 16)!

Thank you

I wear my boots with tights and a dress. Look nice. If with jeans or leggings You don’t want socks showing. Try some footsie type socks ? Primark do a pack of three that come a bit higher up and dead comfy so you get the sock ‘feel’

Thanks Sunny. Good advice! I had clocked that I need to leave a gap with jeans etc. I hate tights! They actually hurt my toes no matter what size I wear.

But it's not actually the feet of the boots that is feeling odd. It's the elastic. I'm unsure as to whether this is normal and it will give a little. Or I just need to send them back and try again. I'm wondering if I should aim for much lower boots that actually sit just below the ankle?

I was hoping to wear them today Sad
