My hair is layerd my shortest length is chin length and my hair is about 2/3 inches below my coller bone .

Ive had 2 hair cuts this year , once in January and another at the end of August to add layers into my hair .

It is fairly soft but the last 3 inches of my hair have become very very dry , and feel like straw .
Normally dry hair = split ends .... But I don't have any .

It is coloured and has a few blonde highlights ...
But my hair is in good condition because I never use a hair dryer and I rarely use heat.

Shampoo and conditioner do nothing .... It's just dry and limp but still in good condition ..I don't want to cut it .

What could help me ??
My natural texture is a very loose wave .

Coconut oil, cling film and a shower cap is a good start.

Some people have had good results from Elasticizer and Olaplex - I’d start with coconut oil & a Palmers coconut protein pack once a week, and see how you get on. The other two can be more expensive options later.

I do caster oil and coconut oil on a regular basis , i cut 4 inches of my hair this time last year when in was this length for the same reason 😣, it was dry and rough .

Ive also tried most hair masks . I'll give the protein pack a try but I'm not hopful

I could have written that post myself ! How long did you leave the coconut oil in for ?

Olive oil works very well for me.

If you have the budget Phillip Kingsley elasticised is very good if not, oil and a shower cap will help.

I also like the Elvive Extraordinary Oil shampoo and conditioner followed with the Oil-in-Cream leave in cream from the same range. It makes my brittle, straw like hair soft and silky.

Go to a really good (expensive) hairdresser and ask what they recommend.
It might be that you need to get more intensive treatments.
It might be that you are using the wrong shampoo and conditioner.
They should be able to tell you what products will help.

The only thing that worked for me is starting to use sulphate free shampoo and conditioner. And keratin treatment at hairdresser. Both of which are very speedy unfortunately. And also-eating Brazil nuts which are good for whatever you need for nice hair.
