What can i wear with these trousers for work?

Ive just bought these trousers for work, i work in a school, so a smart casual look.
I wanted to get away from the plain colours i usually wear, but now ive got home i havnt a clue what top or shoes to go for!
Would brogues go? Im outside quite alot so need to be warm for the winter.

They're nice, I'd wear black brogues and tops, thin jumpers, and long sleeved polo necks would look good. Also a white shirt underneath a jumper and then brogues would look cool.

This is the sort of thing I wear for work, may look at these!

gilmoregal thanks, they were only £10 in the New Look Sale! I dont like paying lots, as work with 4/5 years olds, so you can imagine what a mess my clothes get in!

I wear a very similar all the time OP; i love them! I pair them mostly with a black slim fit ribbed (sort of) polo neck and brogues, a cable knit crew neck mustard jumper that goes great with them slightly tucked in and sleeves rolled up. Ditto a burgundy slouchy jumper and i think dark and forest greens, or even pinks or electric blue go great with them as well especially for autumn. I can't see exactly what colour the checks are in in the image but whatever colours are in that you can also pick out for your top half.

Agree that a shirt under a lighter knit would also look cool with the brogues.
I find them such a versatile pair of trousers..

Footwear wise if it was for work i would wear brogues or loafers, but out and about i do also wear them with trainers or slip on style shoes like Vans.

My DS depute head wears trousers like this a lot with a lightweight right jumper tucked in, she always looks really nice. I'll need to have a look at her shoes next time.

Thanks everyone for your great ideas. Ive just been into our local New Look store and seen some plain check ones, without the blue in the original ones. So ive asked them to hold them for me until tomorrow, as i have more tops, jumpers etc that will go with them.
Just need shoes now!
