Never worn a dress, help me pull off the sexy look!

Early 30’s don’t own a dress, never worn one. Pregnancy has left some lovely blue veins on my legs so I don’t get them out, tights could work but I’ve never worn them either!
Recently lost weight and would love to wear a dress on our ‘date night’ next month. Can someone show me the right kind of dress / tights combo that will look sexy enough to impress dp and appropriate enough for a nice restaurant and cocktail bars.

If it helps I’m 5’6 size 10 - 12. Wide hips so nothing that flares out at the waist.

TIA

How have you reached your early 30s and never worn a dress or tights?!

What colours do you like & budget? I liked whistles dresses for dates

I know! Just confidence. I always go for skinnies and a top if I’m going out.

I’m not really sure what I like, plain colours I think. I’d prefer tights to be black but are they meant to be totally black or not, do black tights only go with certain dresses, I’m lost 😳

Budget is up to £50ish

I wear dresses almost exclusively.

Ive got an hour glass figure and am size 10 so that shape means tight on the waist and flared at the bottom. Are you an hourglass too?

Tights....in the summer I get tan tights from Waitrose as I can't go bare legged to work, it's ingrained now. In the autumn and spring I get 40 denier black from Waitrose again, because other tights are too tight round the tummy and give a line under a tight dress. So 40 denier for no not so cold, then 80 denier for colder, or fleece lined tights.

You can wear long leather boots, short leather boots with either long sock size rolled down or socks inside and leg warmer at the bottom...

And that's just leaves you your dresses. I've got one tight short one, wear with tights and either a loose top or a jumper over to dress it down......I've got a wool All Saints dress which is a good shape but warm......a Ghost dress which is beautiful, in fact my two long Ghost dresses can have a long sleeved cotton t shirt underneath, plus tights and boots And a jumper on top.....

You're gonna look lovely xxx
