Please help me find squat-proof leggings

I desperately need some sports leggings that are:

  1. definitely not see-through (I do crossfit so lots of squats etc)

  2. Don’t start slipping down especially when running

I’ve only managed to find 2 brands that manage both those things so far:

-gymshark high waisted seemless leggings - out of stock until December tho Sad

  • sweaty Betty - sooooo expensive!

Has anyone found any other brands that r worth a try?

There's an excellent range in tkmaxx they don't budge. In bed now but will let you know the brand tomorrow. I've about 5 pairs

mrslebon · 09/10/2018 09:37

Bizarrely, my best pair of budge free sports leggings are from Asda! They're thicker, suck you in type fabric and they don't move. H&M's are dreadful for falling down. Another good pair I have are from Matalan. Whilst I love Sweaty Betty designs (and I have some of theirs), they tend to be thinner, more see through and just not up to the job!

Bluntness100 · 09/10/2018 09:38

Nike ones are really good.

dontdoubtyourself · 09/10/2018 09:42

Fabletics

CMOTDibbler · 09/10/2018 09:44

Tikiboo and Razorstorm

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 09/10/2018 09:46

I'd second the Matalan ones. Cheap as chips, nice thick material, very high waist and reinforced, funky designs.
I find the asda ones too narrow and restrictive around the waist, tend to roll up.

Like these for example: www.matalan.co.uk/product/detail/s2688397_c116/souluxe-ombre-capri-sports-leggings-black

Sturdy by design

Best gym pants I've ever had. I do a lot of weight and running and they are PERFECT I wouldn't buy anything else now

CosyWinterDays · 09/10/2018 12:12

Wow thanks everyone! I’d not thought to try matalan or asda but will pop in next time I’m nearby.

With fabletics don’t you have to sign up for some sort of monthly contract? I’ve heard a lot of people having problems when they want to cancel.

I’ll google the other brands mentioned tooSmile

Nike running tights are great. Have a drawstring so don’t fall down, and are definitely not see through, although I’ve only had black ones so not sure about other colours. They last forever too.

arielmanto · 09/10/2018 12:28

If you're thicker in the waist Gap ones are great. No see through, nice waistband so they hold up. If you have a skinner waist and larger hips comparatively, they fall down.
TK maxx ones - 90 degree reflex, i think..? Are my fave.

MinaPaws · 09/10/2018 12:31

My best leggings are Primark. Thick plain black leggings, with plenty of lycra in the, that cling well, move well, not transparent at all, never go baggy, never slip down. They cost about £8-12. So for Primark, that's super deluxe as they start at around £2. They wash well too. No colour fade or shape change. had them for about three years now.

ileclerc · 09/10/2018 12:35

Nike running dri fit, and have also had some success with Next.

I like a drawstring though so usually end up with Decathlon own brand, 100% squat proof and the drawstrings means they stay properly up.

The primark ones Ive had were awful.

ceeveebee · 09/10/2018 12:36

I have leggings from sweaty Betty and from h&m, and I can barely tell the difference between them

Lost5stone · 09/10/2018 12:41

I'd say pop fit are my best leggings. Don't budge and no underwear flashing and they were free (apart from delivery) however sizing is well off (lost about 2 stone before they fit) and delivery is ages. I'll have a look in Matalan!

NicoAndTheNiners · 09/10/2018 12:45

My Matalan ones were good but no cord and I've lost weight and they fall down now.

Next are good. Had good ones from m&s before. Also intersport own brand .

mrslebon · 09/10/2018 14:38

Yes, you do have to sign up to Fabletics. I signed up in the early days and they were pretty aggressive when it came to cancelling, but I persisted. The leggings I bought have weathered pretty well actually and I still wear them 3 or 4 years later.

noodlezoodle · 10/10/2018 01:14

I've just bought a couple of pairs of 'blackout' leggings from Gap - nice and thick, specifically designed not to show your pants, and both the pairs I bought have high waist and drawstring so they won't fall down.

AskMeHow · 10/10/2018 21:42

I have a brilliant pair of Nike leggings with a wide waistband bought years ago but they've changed the material now and it's much thinner. The next best I've found is Brooks greenlight leggings. Very stretchy, wide waistband, have never fallen down.
