Combination skin, massive pores - which primer?

As the title says, combination skin with a super shiny t-zone and dry cheeks. I have massive pores, especially on my nose. It's genetic and there doesn't seem to be any product that can improve it.

Is there a primer that could work for me? I've tried both Smashbox and Rimmel and both seem to make my pores bigger and more noticeable once I've got my foundation on. It's so weird. My skin looks awful with them on.

Anyone with similar issues?

Benefit porefessional works for me.

Iv been a beautician /MUA for 7 years and Iv found Matis flashgum is amazing. I use it daily and Iv noticed I don't use half as much foundation to cover my face as it has like a photoshop effect an hid every pour and scale (I have very dry t-zone but oily cheeks) it is genuinely amazing and make up goes on lovely with it and you only need a bit but not the cheapest xx

I have similar skin and have just started using IT cosmetics cc cream with the la Roche posey effeclar mat underneath and my skin looks the best it ever has.

Thanks all. Going to go and test these out as soon as I get some time off.

I have the same issue, primers seem to be either to fill in the cracks or mattify but not both. I have been using la roche possay moisturiser for years and I def think it helps. At the moment I’m using Estée Lauder smoother primer but I think there’s probably a better one I could find out there in existence somewhere!

MO2X what site do you use to buy Matis Flash Gum

ravensmum · 17/10/2018 06:29

Has anyone tried the Paula’s choice spf/primer??

SwayingInTime · 17/10/2018 06:31

Becca ever matte pore perfecting primer, only thing that got me over my addiction to no7 matte under make up base after it was discontinued. I don’t wear liquid foundation though and sense it might ‘pill’ if I did.

I know you say no product works, but have you tried a niacinamide serum? My pores are ridiculous and this reduces them to nothing within 2 weeks of use. No idea how it works! But it does.

Primer wise I use porefessional.

ravensmum · 18/10/2018 07:54

Teddy what serum is this?!

God that’s a horrible link, but you get the gist! Even better it’s only £5. It’s honestly worked miracles for my crap skin. Only use a primer and a tinted moisturiser now where previously I wouldn’t leave the house without a full coverage foundation & concealer & powder.
