What should I wear under a wetsuit? Are wetsuits difficult to get on and off?

Yes, they're a bit of a bugger to get on and off, especially when wet. Most people wear a swimsuit underneath (reduces chafing on delicate areas). They do need to fit very close to work properly though.

I wear a very boring Speedo swim suit when I'm swimming.
I've worn a bikini under one for a surf lesson.
They need to be almost too small when dry as they stretch a bit when wet.

I wear high waisted bikini bottoms and a rash vest.

I wear a rash vest (usually a short or long sleeve thermal one depending on temperature) & close fitting swim shorts under mine. On is pretty easy, off can be harder especially if your hands are cold...

Rash vest and bikini bottoms or else a swimsuit.

I wear either a swimming cossie or a bikini top/sports bra (crop top style) plus Lycra shorts (type sold for running). On balance, two piece better than one, and rash vest/jammers also good choices.

Just a standard speedo cossie. I have a leg suit too (cossie where the bottom half is like cycling shorts) and I find the legs roll up and it’s uncomfortable.

Two pieces so you can go to the toilet without a total strip
Bikini knickers that fit - the uncomfortable sogginess is less of an issue under a wetsuit.
Rash vest that fits tightly.

Hoik it up properly and carefully - you can tear your knuckles.
Peel suit off inside out and then sort it.

I wear a swimsuit underneath.

A good tip for getting it on... put a carrier bag over your foot & ankle. The wetsuit should slide over it easily . Once you have your leg in remove the bag and put on the other foot. I used this method on a scuba diving holiday - trying to get a wetsuit on in 40 degree heat on a moving boat is not easy when you're hot and sweaty and covered in sun cream!

Thanks for the advice and tips. I’ll try my wetsuit on when it arrives. Do you think it may be worth having DH around when I try it just in case I need him?

Yes - while you should be able to manage by yourself, there's a bit of a knack to the back zip.

I usually wear a normal cossie or a tanki under mine, usually a rash vest as well. If you want a bit of warmth adaptability you can get thermal rash vests, short or long sleeved.

Wetsuit should arrive this afternoon. Have also ordered a rash vest

Where did you order from Sandi? I'm looking online just now too.
