Knee length boots, yay or nay??

I have a pair of lovely knee length boots but are now pretty old and looking a bit sad. They are flat, a tiny bit bikery as have buckle at top but they were very soft leather.
For the last year or so I have worn ankle boots more with dresses.
But I did really like wearing my long boots and miss them.
Are we doing knee length boots now?
Any recommendations for flat black boots?

I am. I still like ankle boots with jeans and trews but if it’s a midi length skirt I prefer knee boots. And they’re warmer. I’ve not looked in the shops though - just got out my old ones.

Agree with Flo. My weekend wear is usually a midi dress or skirt with knee length boots underneath. Looks like this is a look that is coming back in in a 70s way.

Dinkydoos · 07/10/2018 09:19

Yes, they are warmer! Had forgotten that major advantage!
Just had quick browse but not finding much, and Lord, the prices!

I think knee length boots are back this year - they're back in the shops!

Dancergirl · 07/10/2018 12:34

I agree coffee I've just bought some chestnut brown leather knee high boots.

BarbedBloom · 07/10/2018 19:52

Knee boots are apparently in this year, which makes sense as there seems to be loads in the shops. I wear them with dresses or my midi skirts

Oly5 · 07/10/2018 20:24

Yes to fab long boots that keep you warm!!

MinesaPinot · 07/10/2018 22:18

Well I'm going to be getting some - I want some black patent ones to wear with dresses for work.

lenalove · 08/10/2018 14:07

Literally bought a stunning pair of oak knee boots from Hobbs yesterday and I am in love!!

Bluntness100 · 08/10/2018 14:12

For me either or is good. On say I went out to the shops etc in some ankle boots and then went to thr pub in the evening for dinner in knee high ones, where what you think looks good and you're happy with at the time.

Dancergirl · 08/10/2018 15:45

Link please lena?

SpiritedLondon · 08/10/2018 20:55

Yes but with longer skirts / midis though. The Sunday Times style section has some nice midi dresses with long boots and long leather coats. ( knee length) I really don’t like them with above knee straight pencil skirts where there is a gap between the hem of the skirt and top of the boot. Also dislike them over jeans but hey.... if it works for you.

EatSleepRantRepeat · 08/10/2018 21:41

A classic! Can't go wrong with a comfy pair of boots (and I still tend to wear my battered ones unless I'm going somewhere fancy - some look better when they're worn in and a bit faded!)

Dancergirl · 10/10/2018 16:26

They're lovely lena Smile

Ankle boots with skirts/dresses seems to make my legs look really stumpy 😔 knee length boots will have to do! Ankle boots with jeans though

ChishandFips33 · 10/10/2018 17:55

I like my long boots with midi skirts - seems less 'busy' than skirts and tights

I like my boot to disappear under the skirt - if it's a knee length and above skirt I wear my ankle boots
