Over the knee boots

Is it possible to look good in over the knee boots with chunky thighs and being pretty short (5"1)?

If so what do you recommend?

Ideally black suede/leather. Haven't decided if I want flat or heeled so show me both!

Clarks Caddy Belle - come in both black leather and suede. Next do a very decent non leather dupe.

I have given up with over the knee boots, after struggling to like them the past few years. Sticking with ankle boots, DMs, wellies and some knee length.

stressedwoman · 07/10/2018 01:55

If you're that height (and I'm only an inch taller) you have to have a heel. Flat over the knee boots make me look about 3 inches tall!

I'm 5'4" and love my over knee boots. You might want a small, block heel. I think some shops do "petite" versions - you might just need to try a load on.

Thanks everyone! I've bought some second hand ASOS ones to try as I can't get out shopping for a while 😢 so going to try these. They're quite high though and I don't think I can dress them down at all, which means I won't get much use out of them really 🤔

Yes, absolutely if you wear correctly.
Petites like us always fear that our legs will not look nice in boots.
Trust me, dear, this is wrong.
I love to wear boots be it the riding boots. which you are talking in here.

Here is a website: Best riding boots for petites

They draw the eye straight to your thighs. I think that's the issue, rather than height.

starzig · 25/11/2018 12:57

I am 5ft and never wear a heel. Nobody NEEDS to wear a heel. Annoys me so much that some people feel somehow ashamed of being less than 5ft 5.

FourFoxCakes · 25/11/2018 15:07

I wear them a lot. They look great under dresses and tunics withvhems that come down over the top of the boots. And so cosy!

Mumsnut · 25/11/2018 18:35

How wide a calf would the Caddy Belle accommodate do you reckon, Talisin??

Mumsnut · 26/11/2018 16:36

Hopeful bump ...

It's getting very cold and I want to wear mine. But don't know how to style them anymore and haven't seen anyone else wearing them. How are you all wearing your's?

silkpyjamasallday · 26/11/2018 17:55

I'm 5'5" but have shorter legs than my DM who is 5'2", and I'm very pear shaped with ample thighs and chunky calves and I think my flat black faux suede ones look pretty good. I always got compliments when wearing them, your thread has reminded me I have them so I'll have to dig them out. They were second hand and didn't seem to be branded anywhere though so I can't help there. Much easier to dress down flat ones with a slouchy jumper and a mini skirt, or over jeans (I cut an old pair of jeans to bike-short length to tuck into the top though my legs are too chunky to get the jeans and boots on)
