Jeans for tall fat people??

I had a seriously miserable shopping trip this morning trying to replace my old faithful Dorothy Perkins jeans which have finally fallen apart. I'm 5'10" and a size 18 which apparently makes me ineligible for decent jeans according to my local high street - you can be tall OR fat, but it seems that being both at the same time is beyond the pale.

I'm going to attempt online shopping but could do with some recommendations. Where am I forgetting to look? I'd ideally like to spend about £30 but I'm willing to consider paying more for something really good.

Similar height & size. Levi's work for me. Try lots of different styles/sizes.

Next high waisted jeans in an XL leg length may be your new best friend. I have them in boot cut and slim leg and in various dress sizes (my weight fluctuates massively) and they have never let me down.

Next for me (online) don't like them for anything else but jeans and jeggings (which they call denim leggings for some reason) are good. Always check the Clearance section as well, I have got some real bargains from there.

Long tall sally. I get all my jeans there. Next just never seem right on me. Around £50 per pair usually.

SilverHairedCat · 06/10/2018 21:37

I get mine from Debenhams. Rocha John Rocha are brilliant. Try and get them in the sale though!!

Try Sainsbury's, they have long jeans in size 16 & 18 and the quality isn't bad.

M&S do long lengths if you up the budget a little.

If you are willing to spend a bit more, try Long Tall Sally. They have larger sizes and several leg lengths.

topshop go up to size 18 & do a 36” leg

didyouseetheflaresinthesky · 07/10/2018 08:24

Asda or a Next discount store. I get all mine there. 32 leg length in both and size 18.

tinstar · 07/10/2018 08:31

Similar size and an inch taller. I always get mine from M n S.

GrainOfSalt · 07/10/2018 08:34

Tesco (F and F) are the only jeans that comfortably fit me - I am similar height and 16/18. Added bonus they are only £16.

poshredrose · 07/10/2018 08:43

Came on to say sainsbury's as well (and you can get them in argos now).
I'm 5ft 11 and the length is fine for me.

vroc81 · 07/10/2018 08:47

M and S but the per una Roma waist ones rather than mid rise.. their long length are too long for me at 5ft 8 so might be worth a try.. I wear the slim boot.

Fstar · 07/10/2018 11:17

Next, m and s and yours do long leg. M and s great fit if you buy skinny ones. I buy from asda too if im wearing boots it doesnt matter

Omeletteandbeans · 07/10/2018 18:10

New Look do 34 and also some 36 inch leg, but you need to order them, I've never found them in-store.

threads123 · 07/10/2018 18:18

GAP tall are amazing, only available online

Cumbrianlass66 · 07/10/2018 20:18

Next 360 skinny’s £45 are comfortable and look good. Slightly taller than you and a size 20.

GoJohnnyGoGoGoGo · 07/10/2018 20:21

Asda for me too. I'm just shy of 6'2" and a size 22/24.

willowpillow · 08/10/2018 09:18

I feel your pain! I have recently discovered Mantaray jeans at Debenhams. They are very generous and I actually went down a size. They're about £40 a pair. I have the added issue of massive legs/thighs in relation to waist so most trousers or jeans are skin tight on my legs and fall off my waist. Monsoon are not cheap but they fit me well, oh and I'm 6ft and a 20/22.

SimplyPut · 08/10/2018 09:19

M&S £19 high waist in a tall.
