Oh yes I do a big de clutter mid November just before the birthdays and Christmas.
Have to do it while they're at school though as if they see me putting stuff into bags/boxes they immediately want it again even if they haven't looked at it for months..

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2018 22:23

Do they ever ask for it again? I am always afraid that my youngest asks for things I may have given away. She is like an elephant and never forgets! Think I will do that when they are at school. Im so tired of all the toys. My older dd has huge issues getting rid of things. She forms weird bonds with things and its a huge wrangle to get her to get rid of things.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2018 22:25

Like old drawings that she has done and wrapping paper or old cards. I am constantly trying to cull her stuff!

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2018 22:26

Ok, so I am selling a pair of brand new ankle boots from clarks. They are going for £40. I have never worn them. A buyer has offered me £30. Should I accept? Its quite hard to sell clarks things. What do you think?

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2018 22:27

I only have one watcher but then they were only listed today.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2018 22:32

The only thing that is going for them is the fact that they are a snake skin texture so are on trend but I have a feeling that they may not sell that well simply cause they are clarks.

Ellapaella · 20/10/2018 08:20

I'd say that's a decent offer for them Never. Shoes are tricky on eBay as the buyer takes the risk they won't be a comfy fit and can't return. I'd go for it.

ilovecherries · 20/10/2018 08:40

I hate the way ebay forces you into offers now. I think it forces you into overpricing in the first place, and just adds another layer of complication. And if it’s an auction then my expectation is that people should pay more than the start price to get the auction ended early, not less. BiN is different, then I expect less. I think it’s a good enough price for footwear, but you have 48 hours so I’d wait a bit before accepting till you see if anyone else comes along.

Hi more of a lurked than poster but I love these hush threads as a big fan myself! I was wondering if I could get an opinion on this outfit? Hush Marina skirt and hush flower jumper. I dont usually wear skirts! I cant do much about the trainers as just starting to walk after 3.5 months as recovering from ankle break and surgery!

Well, I wear that exact outfit quite a lot, Cake. Including the trainers :)

@Cake I too have that combo, never thought of putting them together - I certainly will now! Looks fab! With the trainers too! :)

EachandEveryone · 20/10/2018 12:25

Whoever recommended the Chelsea boots from Asda thanks! That’s the first time in ages I’ve put a pair of boots on and not winced.

neveradullmoment99 · 20/10/2018 13:21

Looks good @cake :)

neveradullmoment99 · 20/10/2018 13:23

@cherries and @Ella. Thanks for your opinion on the ankle boots on ebay. I accepted the offer as I know how hard it is to sell shoes/boots especially if they aren't really sought after like clarks. They are lovely boots but they are just too high for me and I know I will never wear them. It is very annoying about this best offer business. You can opt out but im sure I have and I still have people giving me best offers WAY below what Im asking at auction. Chancers generally.

CakeInMyFace · 20/10/2018 13:27

Thank you all! I love the marina and haven't worn it enough! Just bought the onesie to wear as pj's and love it. I just wish I had more money to buy more! X

ilovecherries · 20/10/2018 13:32

If you don’t accept offers, then the listing isn’t free - so you can opt out, but at a cost! For auctions, I set it to automatically decline at a penny under the asking price, because I mainly use auctions for things I’m pretty certain will sell well. Someone offered me £1.50 for a coat I had starting at £17 last week. When that was automatically declined, I saw they made a second offer at £2.50. I cba with the hassle at those prices. I’m not a volume seller, it’s just my own clothes, if I’m not going to clear at least a tenner after fees, I frankly can’t be bothered with the listing/daft questionswrapping/posting/moaning etc. I’d rather take them to the charity shop. (the coat actually sold for £35 in the end, which was about what I’d hoped for).

Its got really bloody complicated. I sold stuff just at the end of June and its all changed! Do you mean when the item sells its not free or do you mean just listing it? Im never charged for listing it but am always charged for selling it. The only time im charged for listing is when I use a second category/ or a buy it now. Not for auctions. Then I think I have x amount free. I was so shocked at the price of putting a reserve. It was a bloody fortune - £7.50!!!! I thought no bloody way!

neveradullmoment99 · 20/10/2018 13:42

Just checked. My listings have all been free and I have opted out. They are always giving me promotions so not sure if that is why though? I don't remember the last time I paid for a listing unless it was a buy it now/second category/ or something extra.

neveradullmoment99 · 20/10/2018 13:43

I also used to have to pay for scheduling the listing and don't anymore.

ilovecherries · 20/10/2018 13:50

Are you sure, Never? My listings are all free BUT at the bottom of the selling page, if I tick the offer box, it says ‘list for free, a final value fee will be payable’. If I DON’T accept offers, it just just ‘a final value fee will be payable’. No mention of a listing fee, so one assumes it’s still free, and you are using your free listing allocation. Except it isn’t. I got charged a whole load of listing fees, and when I queried it my (eventual!) response was the free listing T&Cs require you to accept offers. It IS buried in there somewhere, but it took me forever to find, even when I knew what I was looking for.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 20/10/2018 13:56

I have checked my account and the other listings are all free [ not the final selling fee just the listing]. I have a couple of things to list so will double check. I went into one of my listings. Its an auction and checked and in the listing I had ticked off the box that I didn't want offers and it was still free?
I will double check when Im listing something. Will report back! Maybe we all have different T&C? Its hard to find anything on ebay information wise.

neveradullmoment99 · 20/10/2018 14:04

Nope. Just did a listing @cherries [ used a draft that I had made up on my phone] I use the old listing format though, not the new one as I cant find things on it like second categories etc which I use from time to time. I have even scheduled it and its all free. I even have to check the box if I want them to make me an offer. So try using the old listing format?

neveradullmoment99 · 20/10/2018 14:06

I don't use the new overview selling page I use the old one. I hate the new one.

ilovecherries · 20/10/2018 14:09

Oh right, will try doing that. It’s only about 3 weeks ago since I got my last bill, and only 10 days since I got a response saying that I had to accept offers in order to use my free listing promotion, so fairly recent. They really are impossible to get clear information from.
