Super comfy but smart ish ankle boots help!

I have “special feet” (as my DM has always referred to them) and so really struggle with footwear. Now I’m a sahm I tend to live in trainers but I really need something I can wear when I need to look slightly smarter and with winter coming I’d quite like to find a pair of ankle boots.

They need to be super duper comfy, like wearing a trainer. Ideally rubber soles as I find them softest (for example, in summer, I can’t wear Birkenstock’s or thin fit flop things- I have to wear crocs Blush) . I don’t have a great deal of flexibility in my feet so pull on style ones with no zip or fastening don’t tend to work as I can’t get them on or off. They should also ideally not look like shoes for an 80 year old as I’m 30 but have still ended up browsing websites for pensioners in the hope of finding something that works!!

I would pay nearly anything for truly comfy ones that will last... please send any ideas my way!!

Oooh and they need to be flat as one of my feet tends to “slip off” heels, even if only one inch high/blocked.

Sorry for being so awkward...

Would dr martens be smart enough, so you think? They would meet all your “special feet” requirements. The traditional 8-home style need some breaking in (but then are super comfy) but other styles are comfy from the start.

Clark’s do some really comfy shoes and boots that might work for you.

PickAChew · 04/10/2018 22:19

These are lovely to wear. I can't wear ordinary shoes, either, so I wear these when I need to look smarter

I’ve bought these from Office recently and love them. I am wearing them dressed down with jeans or thick tights and dressed up for work with dark tights.

Have a look at Vionic - £££s but very comfy

Not particularly smart, but Flu London boots are great for my 'special' feet.

AJPTaylor · 05/10/2018 06:55

Just going to chuck this out there. My special feet, after a lifetime of old lady feet, thanked me for going to a chiropdist at the age of 50. Special moulded orthotics for my ridiculously high instep at eighty quid and now i can wear lots more shoes.
I still cant believe that the solution was that easy.

I got some boots from www.hotter.com/gb/en/viewallwomens comfy and easy to put on

Errrrrrr · 05/10/2018 07:03

What about Toms boots? I have a couple of pairs which are as comfy as slippers! There's quite a lot of choice on their website but you can also often get them in T K Maxx if you're on a budget too!

ihatethecold · 05/10/2018 07:04

M and S had lots of ankle boots in. Lots made of leather and has a special sole for comfort.
Some looked up to date and not frumpy.

HRTpatch · 05/10/2018 07:04

Have a look at Gabor

afrikat · 05/10/2018 07:07

Ecco

Elpheba · 05/10/2018 08:02

Thanks everyone! Some fab looking ones I’ve not heard of before. Am going to do a Clark’s outlet order and I really like the look of the camel ones too. Hopefully will find something comfy enough to work!

I bought some lovely ones from Fairfax & Favor. They aren't cheap but worth every penny.

I have them in tan but have bought my DM them in chocolate as she loves them too

newdocket · 05/10/2018 10:15

Snog · 05/10/2018 10:23

Fitflop boots?

seefeld · 05/10/2018 10:31

I’ve not tried any on yet but I was browsing the other day and saw that Carvella have a new line designed to be extra comfortable: Carvella Comfort. Might be worth a look.
