Are they worth the money? I need a new pair as my Merrell ones are finally giving up the ghost-I love them but I’m not sure I love any of the new styles as much.

They're great. I live in Canada and they are my go-to.

WeeM · 04/10/2018 21:40

That’s good to hear-I was worried they had become a bit a fashion brand rather than functional as they seem quite popular now.

I live in Chicago and they definitely do the job! Love mine and wouldn’t be without.

VetOnCall · 04/10/2018 21:46

I have the Caribous and love them. They're currently getting daily use keeping my feet warm in the heavy snow we've got here in Calgary!

WeeM · 04/10/2018 21:56

Do you think the leather ones are better than the sort of material ones?

Winter Carnival ones on Amazon for £70 which seems a good price.

Zeldaaa · 04/10/2018 22:11

What is sizing like on them?

ravensmum · 04/10/2018 22:13

I have the out n about boots and love them

ConsiderHerWaysAndOthers · 04/10/2018 23:53

I actually have the out and about for rain/light winter and the tivoli premium high ones (not sure if they still make those ones) for full on arctic conditions! I’d say they’re true to size, I bought mine in my regular US 7.5 and they are perfect with thick-ish socks.

WeeM · 05/10/2018 23:11

Ordered-actually got them for £50 so couldn’t resist at that price! Really hope they fit!

Amazing price 🤞🤞 that they fit

justilou1 · 06/10/2018 03:45

I have to say that my Sorel boots are the comfiest shoes I have ever owned. I am so sad to have moved to a climate that is almost exactly like Florida and I have thrown away the pair I walked the dog in and had repaired about three times (I loved those boots) - and I cried when I binned them.

RedneckStumpy · 06/10/2018 03:52

They are good, but as a Mainer I have to tell you to check out LL Bean.

claptomania · 06/10/2018 08:52

The only thing to be aware of is that they are very, very wide fitting. I had a pair that were theoretically my size but that were like boats.

Also one of the styles (can’t remember which one) has a design flaw where the back collapses and rubs your heel raw. Check the reviews.

If anyone knows a narrower fitting brand
would love to know!

claptomania · 06/10/2018 08:57

Think it’s the Winter Carnival that does the achilles-rubbing thing.
Hope you don’t find that OP!

I have wide feet and I’m in between sizes so went for the smaller in the hope they’re ok! I saw a few reviews about them hurting at the back which is really annoying given the cost of them, there was also a picture of the leather ones that had actually split open at the back! If they are sore in any way they will be getting returned sharpish as I have literally walked miles my merrell ones that are now past it.

Those ll bean ones look lovely too-would need to get them shipped from us by looks of things though.

I've got 'proper' ones and 'fashiony' ones and...they're both brilliant. The proper ones were brilliant in the Italian Alps' deep, deep snow and the fashiony ones stood up brilliantly to snow, hail, slush and rain in Reykjavik.

Fashiony ones similar to this www.sorelfootwear.co.uk/womens-newbie-short-boot-1560711.html?cgid=women-boots&dwvar_1560711_variationColor=628#start=11

My proper ones similar to this style but for adults www.absolute-snow.co.uk/V/Sorel_Super_Trooper_Kids_Snow_Boots_UK_Child_10_RedBlack-(181876)

magpie24 · 06/10/2018 17:30

So I don't live in Canada or Maine (I'm in London Blush) but I always have cold feet and I absolutely love mine

ravensmum · 07/10/2018 15:54

i have heel inserts in mine for a bit of extra support at the back and it made all the difference.

coffeekittens · 07/10/2018 16:58

I absolutely love mine, got them in topshop for a steal at £10 in the middle of summer

WeeM · 07/10/2018 20:34

A tenner...that’s amazing!!!

OP posts:
MarshaBradyo · 07/10/2018 20:36

Yes I really like mine and wear them solidly in winter

So good when it snowed last year too

Warm, comfy and slip-free

WeeM · 11/10/2018 22:12

They’ve arrived and I’m loving them! No pain at the ankle which is fab. My toes are right at the top but I’m sure the next size up would be like boats!

OP posts:
claptomania · 11/10/2018 23:18

Thanks for the update. Glad they fit!

I need to post on S&B to see if anyone can find me a brand that works for narrow feet
