Keratin hair treatment?

Am considering having this done as I have thick, frizzy hair and the thought of having straight, glossy hair for a few months appeals!!

My friend reckons it would wreck my hair 😕

Anyone had it done? Would you recommend?

I have it done regularly every few months. Only way to stop my hair being a frizz bomb!

Perhaps your friend is mixing it up with chemical straightening? I haven't had that done but understand that it can be very bad for your hair.

You have to use SLS-free products afterwards to wash your hair, but there are fairly cheap ones nowadays.

Have a look on Groupon for a salon voucher nearby though, otherwise it is £££ Smile

You can buy a kit from Amazon and do it yourself, it's much cheaper. The kit costs £30 and will do 1-2 goes depending on hair length. Takes 2-3 hours.
I've had so many compliments since I did it a couple of weeks ago . My thick frizzy/wavy mop is now sleek and glossy.

You must not wash it for 3 days and then use salt free shampoo for aftercare.
I got some Weleda calendula baby hair and body wash in Sainsbury's that was salt free.

I had it done last Thursday. It's amazing. I so wish I'd done it earlier. It took about 2 hours but that was with 2 people. I washed my hair on Monday. Hairdresser said to use my normal shampoo. And it air dried straight shiny and non frizzy. This is before rough blow dry

I've been having it regularly for years now. Absolutely love it and would never go back. It does not damage your hair-infact quite the opposite!

AnotheBloodyChinHair · 03/10/2018 20:26

Any specific amazon kits you'd recommend?

Giraffeowlllama · 03/10/2018 20:51

My hairdresser only cost £60. So over 4 months it's probably about what I'd pay for straight shampoo and anti frizz products.

Wow giraffe your hair looks amazing 😍 I'm so tempted now!!

He's a v small local hairdresser. I got my hair coloured about 6 weeks ago. The only thing he said is it will lighten your hair. So when I get my roots my hair re coloured. He said he'll do the colour one day then the keratin the next. I have a bizzare trust in him as he has a small shop always busy. Is brazilian ,straight ,married, his wife does the beauty salon part .
