Tinting eyelashes and eyebrows

Currently spending £20 a month getting my eyelashes and eyebrows tinted and eyebrows waxed in a local salon. I'm okay with the waxing as they just don't look the same when I pluck, but am wondering if it's worth home tinting!

Any tips and links to recommended products?

Bumping for you because I want recommendations too.

I went to Superdrug earlier looking for a DIY brow tint kit but they only had dark brown which is too dark for me - I think I would need light brown. I’m afraid of ending up with slugs.

I tint my own eyelashes and eyebrows. For a while, I couldn't do my eyelashes because so many brands stopped selling/making the formula that actually works (mix of dye and accelerator or whatever it's called). Wasted money on 'new formulas' that are safe but don't work.

Worked out that the eyebrow dye was still the same formula, so now dye my eyelashes with the 'dark brown' colour eyebrow and they look pretty black. Very happy with my face and bank account.

@evilharpy I'm blond and use the dark brown eylure brow dye. I just keep the dye on for a shorter amount of time than recommended.

Eyelure

I use Refectocil in dark brown from Amazon, paint on with an angled brush and leave for 10 mins and the result is better than any salon I’ve been to

Another refectocil fan here. I use blue/black.
It comes in a range of shades.
Dead easy to use too.

ICantBelieveIDidThis · 03/10/2018 18:52

As per applesauce1.

The eyebrow mixtures are what I'm used to using for dyeing my eyelashes, so I use those.

Be warned though, you need to do this in the bathroom, close to a ready source of water.

If you accidentally get this stuff in your eyes, it does feel like you might go blind.

I use the home dye kits for eyebrows, can't remember if I got it from amazon or boots in the end. I'm blonde but use dark brown out but don't leave it on for too long, it took a couple of attempts of timing to get it exactly right but it's best too leave it on for too little than too long.

I get my lash extensions done so don't do lashes only brows. I get my brows waxed every 6-8 weeks but try and pluck them once in between. It means I'm only paying £6 every other month now.

I use the Julienne stuff off eBay. It’s what they used in the salon I went to and it lasts me ages!

Liskee · 04/10/2018 22:49

Thanks all! I've been eyeing up the Julienne stuff. Not sure whether to go for dark brown or black now! I am dark haired and dark eyebrowed, but black might be too dark!! I'll try the dark brown and see how I go.
