Is brilliant. I am not a nail varnish guru but I've got some Essie and am amazed at how it stands up to housework and even gardening. Two coats and it doesn't budge for almost a week.

A week sounds promising!
I bought a bottle of Essie Ballet Slippers, to use while having a break from gels ( due to go for surgery next week, and won't be allowed to wear polish).
I applied two coats last night, with Miracle Cure as a base coat, and Essie gel look top coat.
Will see how long it lasts;I am pleased with the look, anyway.

Yes love the gel look top coat and Essie colours, brilliant.

Barbayagar · 01/10/2018 15:56

The gel top coat and Essie gel nail colours are fantastic. Last for ages! I've stopped getting mine done professionally.

ohellio · 01/10/2018 18:48

I am a massive fan of Essie, their gel colours in particular. My nails look professionally done for a fraction of the time and cost.

legolammb · 01/10/2018 18:53

Same here - Essie + Seche Vite as a top coat looks like a professional pedicure when I use it. Too Too Hot is my favourite for summer

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 01/10/2018 18:58

Plumberry is my fave - did it last night and keep admiring it Grin

Dmum usually wears Too Too Hot.

Barbayagar · 01/10/2018 19:01

Drop the Gown is on my toes, it's a gorgeous ruby red.

ohellio · 01/10/2018 20:11

Too Too Hot is a lovely colour. Rock the Runway is another fab red, and I've just discovered Russian Roulette.

I love Essie polishes and the strengthening primer is great too. I think it's called millionails or similar. I had really soft nails prone to breaking and peeling, probably because I bit them until quite recently. I've been using this for a couple of months and they're growing nicely and feel solid and strong now.

QueenoftheNights · 02/10/2018 08:17

I've never used the gel- isn't it impossible to remove?

I just slap on 2 coats of the normal polish and it stays put. I also use Rimmel and Mavala but Essie seems to last much longer.

It's not gel that requires curing under a UV lamp. It's applied and removed just like normal nail varnish.

Barbayagar · 02/10/2018 12:09

I just have super strength polish remover and it comes off fine.

Essie nail varnish is my new addiction after I bought last year's advent calendar in the Superdrug sale. I have 30ish bottles now and it lasts much longer than much more expensive varnishes.

AFistfulofDolores1 · 02/10/2018 12:37

Love, love, LOVE Essie. I have several, but my fave is For the Twill of It - what a magnificent colour(s)!

HeyMacWey · 02/10/2018 15:21

I love Essie polish. It's the best brand that I've used.
This year summer toes have been Fifth Avenue - a lovely bright (slightly orange based) red. Goes well with olive toned skin. Russian roulette is lovely too and is postbox red.
Chinchilly is a lovely greige for autumn.
