How to style a tux jacket

I bought one in the sale a few months ago black with a velvet trim- I was planning on wearing it come autumn and now it’s occured to me I have no idea how to style it! Any ideas?

Watching with interest. I have one and so far have only worn it with a black mix floral wrap dress.

Are you intending wearing it to work or socially?

Skinnies and tough boots?

I want to wear it out for meals or drinks. I like the skinnies and tough boots idea. I wanted a pair of tough boots but haven’t got my hands on a pair yet!

Watching with interest, any time I wear mine my partner tells me I look like a dodgy snooker player 😂🙄

So... I tried it on with a few things and what seemed to look best were skinny coated jeans and a Cami. It seems the more simple I keep everything else the better it looks. I’ll probably go for heels with it and keep hair loose clean and slightly tousled. Still keen on other ideas though...

I wear mine with ankle-length jeans and a silk t-shirt or cami/ tank, with pointy flats.

Mine doesn't really work over dresses because it's hip-length, so I definitely prefer it over trousers, and I think it dresses up jeans really well.
