Lines on forehead

wentmadinthecountry · 29/09/2018 21:34

I'm heading for 55. No issues with the lines round my eyes but my forehead is far from young looking. I have a no 1 line (as in half an 11 line) and my across forehead lines aren't that great. I'm not heading for Botox but would love to hear of moisturisers etc that work. I'll pay for good!! Or cover up tricks.

No moisturisers will get rid of it, but you could try skin resurfacing, chemical peel etc. I'd consider botox if it bothers you that much and you want rid of it but even that's not permanent .

t00dle00 · 30/09/2018 12:06

I know you're saying no Botox but seriously consider it. It's painless and you don't look frozen after having it.

A moisturiser won't help with voidable lines unfortunately. I have heard good things about givenchy dazzling eye gel which you can put all over your face but it's more for fine lines that prominent lines.

wentmadinthecountry · 30/09/2018 18:30

Mmm, something to think about. The Givenchy gel looks like a good product - will try that when my eye gel runs out. (I'm trying hard to use up a product before buying a new one - hence using Clinique on my elbows before buying my old faithful moisturiser again!)

I'm 46. Ive spent a fortune on creams but still suffered with deep forehead lines.

Like you the lines around eyes are not a problem. I even had a fringe cut in but hated it so grew it out.

So I took a deep breath and had some botox done and honestly it was the best thing I ever did. It looks natural and all my forehead lines have disappeared without looking frozen. I basically look the way I did about ten years ago.

Try the NuFace Mini. I thought it would probably not work that well for me, at 56 but it’s made a big difference. It takes 5 mins a day. That’s all. I couldn’t do Botox due to anaphylactic reactions in the past but this....I’m impressed.

AuntieJackies, you look amazing! Doing a bit of a google of NuFace and looking up local botox reviews too.

Ta. Thing is, I bought this thing last year and couldn’t be arsed with it. Then I thought I really out to give it a go. Commit to it, as it were. I do it 6 evenings a week and have a day off on Sunday. It’s firmed my cheeks, made my (inherited from family) forehead lines less prominent and given my marionettes a bit of a lift (which was why I got it) but I do know it’s dependent on usage and is limited, due to the fact that we have to age!

AgathaMystery · 30/09/2018 19:44

I've just had Botox - last Friday - the results are AMAZING.

wentmadinthecountry · 30/09/2018 20:05

I'm being persuaded... Meanwhile, I've bought a NuFace mini. Hey, I got a pay rise. I don't actually look that old, and my hair is still its natural colour - hurrah for mousey coloured hair - but I want to get a grip before it all goes too rapidly downhill! I have a teenager as well as grown uppish children. Work's a bit full on at the moment and it's taking its toll.

Off to check my potions drawer for stuff I bought but never used!

wentmad....good for you! Don’t do what I did though. I used it 2/3 days on the trot then abandoned it for a week. Another 2/3 days and then couldn’t be bothered. I was going to return it on the 90 day return thing, but thought I’d give it a proper go. I’m now 3+ months in and can see a change. When I was at the dentist a few weeks ago, she asked me what I was “up to” because she felt I looked more “my old self”. I do find my tinted moisturiser looks smoother too. Stays in all day and need less makeup to look “alive” 😊

Truckingonandon · 30/09/2018 21:13

You could give Frownies a go but really, Botox is the only thing that works. Don't waste your money on fancy creams - they don't work.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 30/09/2018 21:16

Agree. Forget the creams. I use Aveeno with Colloidal Oats and it feels wonderful. Wouldn’t fork out cash now, just for a moisturiser or Serum.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 13/11/2018 22:31

Just resurrecting this thread to say...

I have noticed, with the NuFace, that I no longer get “bed/pillow creases” in the morning. I have no idea why. Perhaps my skin’s “fatter” but honestly, I used to get creases which would still be there to some degree, by mid afternoon. No more!

wentmadinthecountry · 13/11/2018 22:39

Was thinking about this today - NuFace definitely helping. I'm sure it would be better if I slept better and remembered to use it every day though. Ds calls it my face dildo! He's 22 this week so not too shocking!

OP posts:
AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 13/11/2018 23:05

😁 Face Dildo. I’m just in the habit of 10 mins before bed. I don’t do any extended programme. The instructions give various additional movements for an enhanced treatment but I figured that I need a ten min program, no more, or I won’t stick to it.

I’m pleased so far. It’s not a miracle worker but it HAS had an effect.

princesstiasmum · 13/11/2018 23:29

I also have a Nu face mini,i use it every night, and some mornings if i have the time,or up ealy enough, i didnt think it was doing anything until i didnt use it for a while,as my old one eventuially died, just got a new one,but was thinking i maybe should have got the trinity as it has 2 higher settings

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 16/11/2018 16:00

Princess, don’t forget to leave 24hrs between usage. I dare not discontinue for fear of my whole face collapsing 😊

flintfoxy · 16/11/2018 16:35

Second Botox if you find the ring person you will never look back.

This givenchy eye gel sounds promising can anyone link?

Delatron · 16/11/2018 20:38

I’m loving my Nu face. I just do the quick 5 minute routine in the morning and it really wakes my face up and seems to lift it.

Didn’t like botox. Made me look strange.

princesstiasmum · 16/11/2018 22:46

AuntyJackies, dont know anything about leaving 24 hours between usage,
Have i missed something?dont remember reading anything in instructions about that

hairypaws · 16/11/2018 22:57

Don't rule out Botox. I'm 48 and get it twice a year. My frown 11s between eyebrows has disappeared now, my Botox is sue so that's not what is preventing it, the muscle has just stopped doing that.

My forehead frown lines are definitely softer but still there. I'm booked in for beginning of December and can't wait.

As far as moisturisers go make sure you use a good hydrating one with a separate hit cream as they are heavier. Also invest in a serum for added moisture boosting.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 17/11/2018 20:48

Princess I’ll check on that and come back. I may have misunderstood it.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 18/11/2018 09:29

Princess, read this on usage, on the NuFace site.

“...We recommend using NuFACE devices once in a 24-hour period, for 5-20 minutes per treatment. For the first 60 days we recommend using NuFACE 5 times per week; after 60 days or after desired results are met, we recommend 2-3 times per week for maintenance.
FAQ | NuFACE...”

Also, I remember seeing a review where an American lady warned of “overworking” the face.

princesstiasmum · 18/11/2018 10:31

Thank you AuntyJackies i dont remember reading this,in the booklet that came with it. but i will look on their website
I do remember the advice on the first 60 days etc, but not the more than once in 24 hours,
Maybe selective reading on my part Hmm
I wouldnt have thought it was strong enough to overwork the face though

Delatron · 18/11/2018 10:40

There’s a 5 minute and a 15 minute program isn’t there? So surely if you do the 5 minute one you can’t overwork the face.
