Are there any shops which are actually true to size?

I know it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.

However, I have clothes (all of which fit) in 4 different clothes sizes from various shops. There seems to be a wild difference in sizing. I have two pairs of jeans in (supposedly) exactly the same style from M&S. One is much bigger than the other.

So when people say they are a size ‘x’ how do they know? I have to try everything on and it drives me mad. I’m trying to get into better shape at the moment too and would find it much easier to go by clothes sizes but does anywhere actually size ‘properly’?

I assumed lots of people were annoyed by this. Perhaps not!

You have to try them on, I am afraid.

I'm not even sure what true to size is anymore. It tried 2 styles of jeans in next - I was an 8 in one style and a 12 in the other.

As for Gap - 3 pairs of the same jeans in the same size all fit differently.

It’s ridiculous. So if I am trying to get so I am a size 10, how do I even know what a size 10 is?

Yes, I have 3 different sizes from places like next, M&S which all fit me.

3 pairs of the same jeans in the same size all fit differently.

That really suggests they are poorly made!

The problem is, sizes don’t in any way relate to measurements, so each shop just does whatever they want. You just have to try everything on, unfortunately.
