Need tops for work - smart but warm. And maybe a bit fun and colourful?

Following the collective failure of MN to get the smell of squid out of my diary, I have a question which I hope is easier!

I've just started a new job (teacher) and the dress code at this school is WAY smarter than I'm used to! Also, it's really cold in there. I'm normally a bit retro and weird so my circle skirts and stuff are absolutely fine, but I'm a bit stumped for my top half. Slogan Ts and denim jackets OUT.

I'm a bit skint at the moment but I'm bidding on some nice blazers on ebay. What shall I put under them? Where is the best place to go?

I'm thinking cute (but not mumsy) blouses, well-cut stretchy tops and thin jumpers. Any ideas?

Sugarhill Brighton?

Uniqlo merino jumpers are your friends. Also Boden ravello tops are very popular, not that I have ever tried them but the hive mind knows its stuff.

Joanie Clothing?

Thin roll neck / polo neck sweaters? They would look good with a blazer.

Will check those out, thank you.

Boobs too big for roll necks sadly - just makes them look like they're sitting in my lap Grin

if really cold the polo neck for warmth underneath a opened necked shirt or a deep scoop neck long sleeve top
