How would you style this skirt for a wedding?

Just wondering what others would wear with this skirt? I'm thinking black top and shoes. I'm just not sure if the top needs to be plain or have detail? The top needs to have sleeves as I'm a 16/18 and arms are large.
I know the skirt won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I love it, I'm bottom heavy and a well defined waist so this style skirt/dress suits me best.
So far I've came up with zero options, everything I find is either OTT or pretty dull.

I think its gorgeous and I think what you suggest is perfect (maybe 3/4 length sleeves for the top). I would wear beautiful heals and maybe a little choker necklace as its quite reminiscent of the 50s.

I would wear it with a crisp shirt, either in white or pick out the plum/navy colour and add a boldish necklace in the open neck - possibly in red....and red shoes!
I'm not a fan of dressy tops, but if you find a good one, let it be plain do not to detract from the fabulous skirt!

Gorgeous skirt. Is the base colour black or a navy or deep purple? I'm not convinced black is the best colour with it based on the photo of the model in the black top and think either a very dark navy or purple (if such a thing is available) might be better. But otherwise yes, I agree the skirt is such a statement piece the accessories shouldbe simple and dark. Agree with PP that a shirt would look great, e.g. Boden.

Thanks everyone, you've restored my confidence in my choice. I've recently lost a fair whack of weight and it's been quiet a few years since I've had the confidence to wear something not designed to blend into the background so I was a little worried I was going into mad territoryGrin.

I'm still waiting on the skirt to arrive so not fully sure of the base colour, I'd love to be able to match a top to that but doubt I'll be lucky enough in such a short space.

I plan on wearing the skirt to death, the white shirt idea is inspired for less dressy occasions so I'll definitely invest in a nice crisp one. Thanks again for the suggestions.

White shirt with sleeves rolled up, Carolina Herrera style. I wore something similar to a wedding myself last year.

What a great skirt, I would go with a plain black top presuming the background skirt colour is in fact black, with a statement necklace, and shoes in a colour.

I love the idea of a white shirt but not sure about one for a wedding. I'm in Ireland and weddings tend to be very dressy occasions, I think I'd be doubting myself all day that I was out of place but I can see how the right (stylish) person could carry it off.

As for statement necklaces, I'm not a fan for myself. I love them on others and have bought some but don't feel they suit me.
I think the skirt itself is enough of a statement for meSmile

Watching with interest as I have a similar style skirt and have yet to find a top to go eith it. I've decided I'd like a gold short sleeved fine knit sweater but there doesn't appear to be one on the planet!
