Double Wear Light Crisis

Why have EL changed this?! It was my holy grail foundation, went to get a new bottle as last one ran out and it’s rubbish! It used to last a whole day and now my face is greasy and shiny by lunchtime regardless of moisturiser/primer/powder. Has anyone found something that adequately replaces it? A primer that makes it stick to your face? HELP!!

Nooooo what do you mean they changed it!!

I have the same problem with DW nude but found 'Babyface' primer (Maybeline?) works well. Haven't tried any of the EL primers.

Have you tried the Double Wear Nude water fresh? I much prefer it to the DW L.

Viviene - I’m not sure about which ingredients but the EL counter woman said it had changed re colours and it now has hyaluronic
(?sp) in it. Whatever it is, I used to be able to wear it to work and know that it would stay put all day. Now my normally well behaved skin is like an oil slick by lunch.

Sorrel, I’ve not tried that - is it a long lasting stay-in-place one?

Can you buy the ordinary DW and add a moisturiser/sun protection cream or aloe vera gel to it to dilute it a bit to the same consistency as DWL? I used DW for years and years and added all of these at different times as I liked the lighter consistency. It also lasted longer than DWL for this reason. I'm now a convert to Aldi CC cream (I was a serious makeup snob till I came across this and can't believe how good it is, such good coverage and quality).

Cutesy I might go and ask for a trial bottle of DW and experiment. It’s annoying though as the whole point of finding brilliant products is the relief of the end of experimentation. Why do big companies tinker?
