Foundation matching

Do you match the skin on your face, your neck or your body? Obviously this doesn't apply to people fortunate enough to have evenly toned skin.

I'm thinking of ditching all face makeup as it just never looks right. I've been 'done' in space nk, selfridges and Harvey Nichols plus amassed an obscene collection of face paint myself but nothing ever looks OK.

My skin is showing signs of age maturing and in decent condition but the colour of my face is nothing like my chest so however I try to match or blend leaves me looking like marge Simpson with high blood pressure or one of the addams family.

What do you all do to get a light, natural and even look?

Match it to your jawline.

Go to a counter that will give you a decent size sample to take away and try yourself. I find Lancome and Dior good for this. In stark contrast I went to the Nars counter, who told me they don't do samples, and proceeded to do an awful match. I walked off with a nice streak of Tango down my cheek!
