Hi All
I'm in urgent need of new jeans - slim leg or skinny cut but proper denim (i.e. not brushed cotton they make my chunky thighs look positively elephantine) I'm normally a LEVI'S fan but am trying to cut back on costs so I can't really be spending £90. Any recommendations? My DH recommended Uniqlo but thought I'd try and tap into the collective style genius here as well before I start the dreaded trying on process. Thanks in advance everyone!!!! X

I have bought several pairs of jeans recently ( after I stopped wearing them a few years ago) and I have got some really good skinnies from Boden clearance, boyfriend jeans from hush ( brandalley have these for £25), cropped skinnies but not too skinny from white stuff and a straight pair from gap and another from Topshop. I was amazed at the quality of the Topshop jeans which were the cheapest ( if you look at everything full price), Gap also really good and a constant sale on.

Now I look at that list I fear I have got too many!

Oh and I am lusting after a frame pair and a mother pair but waiting for sales. I no longer work and jeans are perfect now for everyday

What sort of height/build are you carbuckety? I am quite interested in skinnies-that-arent-too-skinny!
But I'm 5'0", am a 6/8 in gap, 10 in the real world.

chateaurouge I am 5'1 ( and a half) I wear uk size 8 usually waist 26. I think that's a Gap s4 in US sizing. The gap straight slim are pretty good and I found a very old pair of banana republic skinny jeans at the back of the chest of drawers ( which must be 10 years old) that are labelled skinny but are definitely not that kind of scrunch you in kind.

Hadn't even considered Boden jeans @carbuckety! I would love a Frame pair, Outnet has some ;) I did actually pop in to Uniqlo (they have an offer on) & I am very impressed with my £25 cigarette cut slim leg jeans! Will definitely peruse your other suggestions, thanks!
