What colour of tights with brown boots?

Now that I feels truly like autumn I am pondering a question the plagues me every year. What colour is tights are correct to wear with brown boots?
I wear black and I know this isn’t right and I do sometimes think it looks odd but worried that other colours might look a bit frumpy.
What do you advise so I stop having to think about it every single day!

What colour is your skirt? I can see olive green, spruce green, navy or grey all looking good with brown, depending on what you’re wearing with them. I used to wear brown tights but I think there’s not much brown about still so that might look a bit 2005.

I would say navy or grey, too. Black would work depending on the brown, very dark or tan? Maybe burgundy/plum too.

I have various skirts and dresses that I would like to wear with them. Navy and green mainly.
I like the sound of grey I think. My boots are mid brown but I suppose nearer tan.

I think black tights look good with any colour boots! But then again maybe that’s more because I really dislike any other colours in tights other than black or nude...

See, I would stick with black tights as I really think other colours aren't very flattering.

Brown for me. But having said that, finding brown tights is really difficult!

depends on what else you are wearing. Black tights go great with most autumn coloured dresses and skirts so i would say probably match the tights to the outfit with brown boots as a stand alone focal point.

Beige or light brown patterned woollen tights

Just not grey please. Brown and grey: nooooo!

Brown tights depending on skirts

I’ve previously gone for grey (like a charcoally dark grey), olive, plum, burgundy and burnt orange. The first two look quite grown up and autumnal. The final three make me look like a poor cariacature of a hippy drama or art teacher. That might have something to do with my inelegant short legs or my sensible flat boots...

Black, navy or deep, charcoal grey.

I’m surprised so many people as saying black is ok. I thought I was committing a cardinal sin. I might just stick to my black.

I would think black with very dark brown, especially if slightly sheer/patterned or a dark brown would go, I'm think of a pair of brown black micro fishnets I once had. But I would probably go charcoal grey, as that's what I've got.
