Casual wedding

In need of some help from you lovely folks!

DP and I have never wanted to get married. Tbh, we both hate weddings and never really saw the point in marriage. We have however had a rethink on this since we had our daughter 21 months ago and realised things are a lot more straight forward if we're married ( I mean from a legal standpoint). So we've booked a bog standard registry office wedding in December. And not told anyone (but that's a whole other thread).

DP will definitely just wear jeans and a jumper - I'm happy with this as weddings really don't have any meaning to us. However, because I'd like a photo of the 3 of us at the occasion, I've decided I'd like to wear a dress - not a wedding dress, just something a bit dressier than my day to day outfit of jeans and a blouse!

With our dislike of weddings in mind. And also remembering it'll take place on a cold winter's morning and I'll want to wear leather boots (with a wedge heal) - what do you think of these dresses? And does anyone have any other suggestions?

I'm 38 years old, 5 foot 7, size 10 with a big bust (hence the v necks).

TIA X

Number 1 is my favourite and your wedding sounds lovely.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 24/09/2018 20:51

i really like the red one x

Allthepinkunicorns · 24/09/2018 20:59

I think that none off them will go with boots and they are quite frumpy. I know your not having a wedding dress but you could get much nicer dresses than these.

TenaciousP · 24/09/2018 21:10

Thank you Devil and Sleep - those two are the ones I really like, the third was a bit of a curve ball. May have to order both!

Unicorns - I'm aiming for something I'd wear to a local restaurant for dinner. Nothing dressier than that. Both brands are ones I own quite a bit of and the style suits me. I'm thinking sock boot or shoe boot.

They're all gorgeous.

What's your colouring?

Daria32 · 24/09/2018 21:42

Vote for number 1 here- it’s gorgeous! Could you wear it with black shoe boots instead? Long boots may look a little clumpy?

TenaciousP · 24/09/2018 21:43

Thank you Foodie, I think so too - I have pale blonde hair and pale skin.

Daria - I take your point. I could wear shoe boots, I have a few to choose from.

Probably number 1 then but I do love the Whistles one as well but I can visualise a 'you' kind of woman in number 1 more ha! If you know what I mean 🙂

Congratulations as well!

The first one is lovely but maybe a bit dressy to go with long boots, you'd have to try them on together to decide. I don't like the red one. The middle one is OK, and may go better with the boots.

TenaciousP · 24/09/2018 21:54

Thank you Foodie!

Pour* - I get the feeling I'll be deliberating over which boots for a while and prob change my mind on the day!
