How to style 7/8 trousers

What do you wear on your feet with 7/8 trousers? Trainers of any kind give me huge club feet, hate brogues, don't wear heels, don't wear boots so I'm thinking ballet pumps but the ones I wear look too frumpy. How do you pull it off?

Loafers?

TBH if you rule out all trainers, boots, brogues and anything with a heel you're not leaving yourself with many options. Leaving 7/8 trousers aside, what do you wear day to day?

Easynow · 23/09/2018 13:36

It might be easier to wear a different length.

What are 7/8 trousers???

Wedge shoes usually get vilified in Mumsnet but I think these look great with ankle trousers.

I wear Hamble Oaks from Clarks but that doesn’t help you as they are brogues.

Loafers?

I always wear them with some kind of heel. I like 7/8 trousers because I'm a short arse with skinny legs so them stopping before the ground seems to make my legs look a bit longer but I think they need heels. I wear them for work with kitten heels. I know you don't like heels but maybe wedges might work for stability?

A monk shoe or loafer with a flatform.

I like something a little masculine. When you say you don't like brogues do you just mean brogues (shoes with holes) or any laced shoes? Would Oxfords or Derbys be OK? What about monk shoes or sailor sandals (with socks)? If you want something more feminine what about mules or mary janes or t-bars?

If you only wear flats look at enbrogue for inspiration.
