Work wear help

I’ve been promoted at work and will be starting my new role in the next couple of weeks.

The issue I have I’m not sure what to wear. At the moment I’m office based and have to wear the company uniform. The new role will be a combination of meeting clients, visiting offices and visiting sites so work wear will need to be fairly versatile, smart and something that can be worn with safety wear on occasion.

Any suggestion?

What do you feel comfortable in? Trousers, skirts, dresses? I have found the easiest way to get a wardrobe sorted for a new job has been to think in terms of a capsule wardrobe and a daily uniform. So for me, I like slim leg cotton trousers with some stretch, or the same in wool for autumn/winter. I wear these with coordinating socks and brogues. So I have a couple of pairs of brogues and 3 pairs trousers. I wear these with a smart jersey top and a blazer. I buy everything on eBay or charity shops and take to the tailor to be altered.
