Good quality black tights for school?

Can anyone recommend some hard wearing black opaque tights that my dds can wear to school? I’m sick of having to replace them all the time - they all seem to become holey and laddered so quickly!

How old is your daughter?

I like Country Kids but they are for younger children.

Thanks for reply CruCru. Mine are teens, so adult sizes. Bit daft of me not to mention that Hmm, sorry. I went ahead and ordered some last night from Sock Shop, just more expensive brands than supermarket own, so hopefully these might last a bit longer!

I like M&S autograph. Last years.
But they are about £10 a pop.
If the ladders and holes are caused by catching on school desks etc, maybe buying cheap is the best way to go. What about trying to darn the holes? Or are the tights generally too badly wrecked for this to be an option?
Primark opaques get good press on these boards in terms of quality/cost but I have not tried them to see how they compare to M&S.
HTH Smile

I buy Tesco or Primark 40 denier for teen dd . They are surprisingly resilient

rainingcatsanddog · 20/09/2018 19:54

I buy cheap Primark/supermarket jobs. My dd averages about a pair a month?

FabulousTomatoes · 21/09/2018 12:41

Thanks all. I think my dds must be tumbling about in the rose bushes at school!

M&S velvet opaque ones. They’re expensive but lasted all year on my 16 year old. Even impervious to our spaniel plonking himself on top of her.

Hoppinggreen · 21/09/2018 13:34

I buy cheap and often (usually Sainsbury’s)

Hoppinggreen · 21/09/2018 13:35

With a dog who loves to climb on dd and a dd who loves to climb almost everything no tights survive long so cheap and often is the way to go for us

friendlyflicka · 21/09/2018 19:36

I bought M&S velvet in the children's range until they were constantly out of stock. Then I tried the Sainsburys Velvet finish tights for my daughters. They are much cheaper and just as good.

Buy cheap and replace, honestly, it's the best way to go.
