I’m (hopefully) going to graduate in December with a PhD from Southampton. The gown colours are burgundy/sky blue - hopefully photo attached. What colour dress would you wear? I have (dyed) ash blonde/grey hair, dark eyes and fairly yellow toned skin.

I would rather wear “professional office” type clothes rather than “prom”.

I’m thinking a navy shift dress; I was hoping bravissimo/pepperberry would come up trumps in their autumn collection but sadly no. Something fitted as I have large bust and bum (size 14-16, 32K) and don’t want to add any more volume than the gown does already. I hate florals.

Any other ideas? I find it really hard to buy clothes so want to start shopping a long time in advance. Thank you!

Classically, you’d wear a black suit with a white shirt. Would that work?

I agree, but I wasn’t sure if black would look weird with the blue and burgundy (hence navy being better) and with the size of bust I have, getting a non-gaping shirt that doesn’t look like a sack is very problematic. Bravissimo shirts aren’t long enough for me.
