Could anyone help with A/W going out outfits? DH getting fed up!

DH keeps asking to go out now we've found a suitable babysitter but I keep putting him off, friends too. We've barely gone out through the baby years so I'm no longer confident with smart/casual going out clothes (think meals out, gin bar, cocktails, live music).

I can't find any nice blouses to pair with black jeans (I like simple styles and prints - not a fan of floral)

Clueless about jackets, shoes and bags! ??

What sort of style dress would suit a 37 year old without looking too dressy?

Any help would so be appreciated!

what about some tunics? you can dress them up or down, and can wear them in winter (with leggings or tights) and summer (bare legs) everything5pounds.com has loads (and yes, everything is £5! I have ordered a few things from here and have been pleased with them.)

also, what about a few colored jumpers? you can pair them with black jeans. www.everything5pounds.com/en/Contrasted-Rib-Knit-Top/p/641499

in terms of blouses, have a look here. www.bonmarche.co.uk/tops-and-tunics/soft-touch-animal-print-sweat-091058.html?dwvar_091058_color=33&cgid=womens-tops-tunics

for shoes, i would recommend these boots as they are so so versatile: www.edgemere.co.uk/joules-hampton-ankle-boots ( i think ebay has some second hand ones- the price is steep) i would also get some heels (they can help dress an outfit up) and some flats (to dress an outfit down.)

if you got a plain black tunic, you could get a statement necklace to add a focus point.

and for a bag, you just really need one small one. joules have some, and there are some designer ones on ebay.

I’m a little older than you, so my suggestions might not suit, but...

For casual tops which are nice enough to wear to go out, I like Noa Noa, Hush, A Postcard from Brighton (the jersey stuff)... erm, there are more, but I’ll have to root through my wardrobe.

For boots to wear with jeans- M&S and Fly London. I have to wear comfortable footwear, as I have strange feet.

Cami and a blazer.

Like this one, it’s lovely from Massimo. Not my colour choice, but it comes in black. I just can’t find it online on the phone. Bit pricey does them, Topshop, Zara, H+M.

Blazer something like this. It’s a uniform I know, but looks well and it’s a handy one to pull out.

Decent jeans, but of a heel, belt, necklace/earrings. Wear the hell out of it.

Ah crap. Typos.
Cami is pricey but everywhere does them.
Decent jeans, bit of a heel, not but of a heel. ObvsGrin

I like Whistles and H&M for blouses to wear with jeans for this sort of thing. Like this.

I wear with ankle boots (I have in black and tan), black skinnies and a black wool coat or parka in winter.

Where would you be going?

Thanks, very useful.

We'd just be going to city centre restaurants, nice bars or perhaps a country pub. Some places smarter than others.
