Would this Mac suit plus size? And look at my new boots!

I love the colour of this mac but not sure overall if it would suit me at size 20+ if the flappy bits would look weird as I'm large of nork.

Also look at me new DMs. I love them & only £58.50 in the sale. So chuffed!

I would find that the flappy bits made me look huge on top. Also, I find belted waists a nightmare underneath big boobs.

margaritasbythesea · 14/09/2018 14:57

Have fun with your boots though. Love new shoes!

People's eyes will automatically be diverted to the flaps which has the potential to make you look even wider. It may make your norks unbalanced too.

TheOnlyPink · 14/09/2018 15:38

I think it depends on your shape. Medium or small norks would suit fine i think. Without the flaps i think it would be great on plus sizes.
I'm a size 22, and it's just the flaps bits that would put me off cos I've got big boobs.

buckeejit · 14/09/2018 15:38

Thank you! I thought so but it's so sad when you find something a great colour but not the right shape for you. I'll enjoy the boots & keep looking!

What's a good coat for a booby person then? I don't like anything heavy as would rather wear a warm jumper under than a thick coat

I think it depends on how tall you are.

buckeejit · 14/09/2018 17:59

I'm 5'8" & have still been mulling this over & thinking I very rarely button/zip up coats as I'm not out long enough & wondering if I might get away with it. Tempting enough to get the flappy bits altered as can't see anything else I like

If it were me I would try it on and then decide . I think it’s lovely . You are tall and I think the flappy bits would be fine . I love the colour .

MeMyElfandI · 14/09/2018 21:14

I’m a size 20 and have just bought this in M&S it is lovely but probably a bit lighter in colour than the OP’s one. Good length as well and not too bulky either.

Autograph Mac

ToftheB · 14/09/2018 21:17

Love the boots! I nearly bought some, wish I had now.

buckeejit · 14/09/2018 21:18

Love the autograph one but on a serious budget here-have ordered it & will return if no good but good reviews on Debenhams & 10% off made it under £30

The flaps on the size the model is wearing look fine but I think on a plus size they'll be huge and dominate your upper body making it look much bigger.
The shape of clothes often changes a lot from a smaller size to larger. I spotted a lovely dress today, went in at the waist had nice neat pockets and looked slimming, that was in a size 12, in the size 18, which looked much bigger, it was a shapeless sack with huge pockets.
I'm saying this as a plus size person btw.

MoltonSilver · 14/09/2018 21:36

If it's perfect apart from the flaps maybe see if it can be altered to remove them.

buckeejit · 14/09/2018 22:06

Yeah if I like it enough will speak to someone about altering. Maybe even stitching them down would work.

They've emailed to say they found a tear in it when packing & have refunded me. I'm distraught. There's not another & now nothing will come close. Back to the drawing board Sad
