Keeping school socks white

Are there any tricks I'm missing? Apart from the obvious, wash lights together, which is far too organised for me! How can I whiten socks that have a bit of colour pickup already?

I do whites separately, and chuck s bit of Vanish/supermarket equivalent (the one for whites) in. I think it's the separate wash that really helps.

And hanging them out in the sun when possible!

My top tip is to never buy white socks #HelpfulHints but I do have boys Wink. I wash all my whites together and always add laundry bleach.

I hang anything white out in the sun, and in the winter I hang it against a south facing window to dry. You can bleach a lot of stains out even with winter sun through a window.

I do a separate whites wash and I always add a scoop of stain remover (Lidl version of vanish). Once every 6 weeks (the last day of the school term), I wash the clothes on a ‘stain wash’ cycle. This cycle lasts for about 3 hours (which is why I only do it every 6 weeks).

I’m not very good at doing the laundry, but I must admit that my whites are pretty good.
