DD was told yesterday at school that a tankini, which is all she's got, isn't allowed.

I'm having trouble finding anything at all, quite frankly. Swimming starts next Tuesday.

For 'real' swimming, your Dd would be much better getting a costume with thicker shoulder straps and a higher front. The pair you've bought are really just for playing on the beach and the front will sag quickly.

Try a sportswear shop and get a good lycra swimsuit. It'll last a while as they stretch well.

Most kids will be taking what they already have. DD can swim perfectly well in that kind of costume, it's similar to the one she was swimming in all summer, "real" swimming. She needs a bigger size because she's outgrown that one. The only rule is no bikinis (or tankinis apparently, but I think they should have put that in the letter to be able to enforce it).
