Above knee interesting skirt

Evening fashionistas. Has anybody come across a funky short skirt for winter to wear with knee boots and black tights? I don't want it too short as I am oldish but def above knee and not flouncy, pleated or encumbered with frills and widgets. Am picturing deep colours in cord or velvet type fabric maybe with a bit of stretch. Does such a garment exist?

Cord skirts are very in this season so they're actually everywhere. I saw this in White Stuff earlier. It was the only thing that caught my eye (I went I
for tights!). I have also seen some in zara, gap and ASOS.

Next have some in.

I love the short skirt and boots combo

Thank you. I had no idea that I was on trend for once. White stuff do have some nice skirts. Will also take a closer look at Next. Looked at john Lewis and died of shock at some of the prices.

Doing a dash through Tesco this morning, I spotted what looked like a really lovely herringbone check skirt in the clothing section. I'd say it was above the knee but not mini. Would be lovely with tights, boots and a jumper (am thinking mustard or plum colours) I'm definitely going back for a closer look at the weekend!

That sounds worth a look as I am baulking at the prices at White Stuff.
