Anyone else keep buying the same stuff over and over?

I took delivery of a lovely new pair of Superga deep red trainers today. As I put them upstairs it dawned on me that I already have two pairs of burgundy trainers. I knew this of course when I ordered the new ones but justified it in such a way that I didn't really take it in that I'd have three pairs of footwear fulfilling the same function.

I've done it many times before, sometimes more subtly ( eg three identical style polo necks in three different colours, two Breton tops, same shaped skirts etc)

I imagine it's quite common. Big RUT!

I used to but like you I came to a realisation when I had a bit sort out and found 6 denim shirts all hanging in a row. I try to remember what I have now and only buy new if truly needed.

I do, but it’s a conscious thing - I know what I like and what suits me in terms of shapes and styles, and tend to buy around that. I particularly do it with jeans, because they are such a difficult thing to get right, so if I find a style I like I will buy them in black, blue, grey, or whatever, or even two identical black pairs.

Red leather boots, and olive green scarves!!

Well it depends what you mean. I have a lot of shoes so have, e.g. 8 pairs of trainers but they are all different colours and nearly all different brands (have 2 pairs of converse but different styles), but I'd say that was no different to having several pairs of jeans. Clothes I use to buy multiples but deliberately don't now. Only way to find something new and exciting is to keep getting different stuff. And very aware that the silhouette is currently changing and if I keep buying the same kinds of clothes that's the best way to look dated.

Yes I do
I buy same jeans or jeggings in different colours
Plain cashmere or merino knit wear in a variety of colours
I have about a dozen pairs of pointed toe flat shoes in various colours
4 identical jaeger wool coats in different colours

Yes if I find a shape I like I buy it in different colours. I have the Boden off duty roll neck in multiples along with some Pure cashmere slouchy jumpers.

I also tend to stick with tan/beige footwear so everything goes.
