Really good deodorant for teenage ds

DS has been using the usual Sure for Men, Adidas “off the shelf” deodorants but am noticing, when I’m doing the laundry that there’s still a sweat smell. Not horrendous but just wondered if anyone could recommend a good heavy duty product. Must be a roll on version, though.

Thanks

Check Holland and Barrett, they do some natural ones

WrongKindOfFace · 10/09/2018 21:11

Check he’s using an antiperspirant deodorant. And the sticks or gels might be more effective than sprays. They do some you put on at night and wash off in the morning - sure for men does one, I think

Natural ones aren’t usually strong enough for teenage boy stink.

Sam Farmer is a range especially for teens. I buy online and they send out orders quickly.

Right guard roll on is what he needs. Trust me Grin www.superdrug.com/Mens/Men's-Deodorants/Mens-Roll-On-Deodorants/Right-Guard-Male-Total-Defence-5-Fresh-Roll-on-50ml/p/724537

Check out Salt of the Earth or Pit Rock online. I used to have works shirts / training gear away every few months due to residual pong until I started using these a couple of years ago.

Cheaper, less waste and extremely effective.

TantricTwist · 10/09/2018 22:15

Firstly he needs to use bar soap to wash his pits not shower gel which leaves a film etc. There are lengthy posts on MN re this.

My DS 12 uses Mitchum the dry cream stick, as do I and its the best I've found.

Also, look at your detergent and consider a sports one such as halo. It completely zapps the trapped sweaty smell in my DH sportswear.

YukonGold · 10/09/2018 22:34

Mitchum is what he needs.

Chocarocker · 10/09/2018 22:36

Second the Mitchum.

The moo goo deodorant is just lovely. I also find it effective after workouts.

He uses roll ins as sprays don’t suits him. Also uses soap and a body puff thing which gets changed each week.

Will have a look at some of the suggestions. Thanks

lidls non marking cheap one is pretty good

Abbie89 · 13/09/2018 13:15

Perspirex is really strong but really works - it's a roll on but you apply it overnight rather than during the day. Available at Boots, Tesco etc. Hope that helps :)

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 13/09/2018 13:19

Thanks.... am at a larger Boots this afternoon. Will read some reviews 😊

Make sure he's using real soap, some bars like Dove aren't actual soap so won't have the same impact.

Could it be the clothes rather than him? I find that DH shirts get quite smelly (despite not being smelly himself really) and the only thing that really gets rid of the smell is Dettol laundry cleanser in with the washing. No matter what brand of powder/liquid/tabs etc I use to wash the clothes, nothing gets rid of that smell other than the Dettol stuff.
