What would you wear with this...?

I've bought this dress to wear to my DB's wedding at the end of October. So far I've bought a net underskirt to make the skirt sit out a bit but I need suggestions for what accessories to wear with it. In particular shoes but also a jacket/wrap/cover up, jewellery and potentially a hat.

The wedding is all in the one venue and we're staying there overnight so I don't need to be too concerned about wearing something weather suitable. Also I have a 3.5yo and a 10 month old so nothing too impractical because I'll likely be doing a lot of child wrangling! 10 month old will still be BFing so that's why I've gone for a wrap style dress.

Any suggestions for a bit of a clueless fashion wannabe? Grin

I'd wear a cropped long sleeved shrug with it for warmth; Monsoon quite often have them in; would suit the style, especially if you're putting an underskirt in.

I wouldn't bother with a shrug etc if it's all at one venue.
If you have purchased a petticoat I would full on 50s look (because this is my look). Have a look At Vivienne of Holloway for some inspiration .

What colour would you pair with it? I like the idea of 50s style accessories but I'm not sure how to coordinate.

I think the dress is lovely and colourful, so I'd keep it simple (and cheap!) and stick with black for accessories. Chunkier courts or two-part shoes with ankle straps look great with those 50's style dresses IMO. I wouldn't bother with a shrug or jacket, although some kind of shawl or wrap might come in handy for both BFing or the odd chilly moment.

I think you're right, I probably don't need to worry too much about a cover-up. I've been looking at the dress again IRL and wondering if nude shoes might go with it? Something like the pictures here?

I'm not really a hat person either and given it's not a church wedding I might skip that too. I think/hope the dress is interesting enough to still look special when paired with simple accessories.

I was going to suggest nude shoes. Also agree that there's no need for a jacket or a hat.

I was thinking maybe a nice chunky necklace or something as well? But a plain colour and not floral patterned one perhaps.
