I am looking for people who have the same body shape as me but dress better. I’m 5ft 2, Apple shape and size 12/14. Any recommendations much appreciated.

I think Hannah Gale is this shape. She's over at @hannahfgale

saycheeseandcrackers · 08/09/2018 07:36

Also look up the @midsizecollective they aren't all petite but there's a huge range of different IGers for inspiration. All sizes around 12-16.

saycheeseandcrackers · 08/09/2018 07:37

*10-18

You'll struggle to find many. Invetweeney sizes aren't well catered for, really.

Lucy Jane Wood is a 14 but I don't know her height and she has no belly, really. She's just a bit thicker. But she does wave the flag strongly for size 14 representation so if you go through her feed you may find some recommendations.

Thanks a mil for those suggestions. I really appreciate them. I am following everydayteacherstyle and she is a good height and size for me but is more of a pear than an apple.

Following with interest

I recommended them on the other IG thread so now I sound like their agent, but Monika Goes to Work and Workwear Edit Belinda (who is a MNer) are both petite. I can’t think of any IGers who aren’t skinny: with very few exceptions, being thin and being fashion-obsessed go hand in hand.

I am a fellow short and tubby person and definitely feel the lack of someone prominent to copycat!

MM18 · 08/09/2018 11:49

One thing IG has taught me, by looking at pics constantly, is proportion. There are definitely times when I’ve seen an IGer with the wrong style of bra for her figure or the wrong length of hair, and it is helping me work out how I want to look once I lose my final stone (lost 3 so far but this one is taking as long by itself as the other 3 took in total!)

MM18 · 08/09/2018 11:54

Thought of another curvy IGer - Quarter Life Surprise. Like the others she has a proper job, not just a husband with a job in finance Wink so her dress choices are actually wearable rather than attention-seeking. If you look up ‘modest’ style, you’ll come across a lot of Arabic and Asian bloggers who are short, not skinny, and wearing clothes suitable for work or (in my case) surburbia.

Offbetsygoes is another one I’ve started following that seems a good match

Sounds like there's a gap in the market here! Considering how many of us are of more generous proportions you'd think there would be a need for some good IG influencers...

Dlpdep · 09/09/2018 10:00

I agree totally. Even from looking at the few I’m following I’m picked up great tips. I can also see what doesn’t work as well for them. It’s having the confidence to put yourself out there though when clothes don’t hang on you as well as the model types.

Resurrecting a zombie thread I know but I'm looking for the same thing and wondered if anyone knew any given the time lapsed from when this thread was started?
