Best lipbalm?

My lips are already getting sore with the colder weather creeping in. I've been using good old vaseline to try and prevent them from.chapping, but it's not doing the trick this time? What's the best lipbalm? I purchased a Nivea one last year but wasn't very impressed neither. Has anyone used the Burts Bees one?

Blistex Relief Cream (metal tube) - in no way glamorous, but nothing works like it

Mrbatmun · 07/09/2018 19:21

Definitely Burts Bees. It actually moisturises your lips rather just leave a film. It's the only lip balm I have ever consistently used and, provided I don't lose it, might be the first lip balm I ever finish!

Liz38 · 07/09/2018 23:11

Love Blistex but unlike other posters I have the one in the plastic tube. Brilliant stuff!

RibenaMonsoon · 07/09/2018 23:22

Lush - lip service. Not the prettiest or the most fancy smelling of their range but my goodness it's been a total game changer for me. Especially in the winter.

MissMarplesKnitting · 07/09/2018 23:27

Glossier balm.com....some are sparkly too. Gorgeous.

I like the blisteze in the tube too when they get sore and split.

Vaseline is a barrier, it doesn't moisturise. You need something to add moisture back into the lips.

Please go for Nuxe Rêve de Miel (in the pot not the stick), it is amazing. In winter my lips could bleed if I smiled. I have tried everything else recommended above having reviewed MN for recommendations. I also tried the mango paw paw ones and all manner of designer label stuff. This is the best thing ever and my lips don't even crack now let alone bleed!! It's a level above everything else.

I;ve just ordered two of the Hurraw for DD (lemon and the night one) so I'll see what she makes of them Smile

burnoutbabe · 08/09/2018 11:19

I love my eos eggs. I stock up when I go to the us, and have around 5 in reserve! The grapefruit one was lush!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/09/2018 21:03

I have the Nuxe (jar) but I use a brush so it's only something I'd use at home ( actually I have no idea where it is..... it was £8ish when I bought it so I really must find it!)

I find Burts Bees too solid ,

I have a Rhubarb Lanolips in my handbag
I bought a Carmex tube for the car

I have a scabby old Neales Yard Orange&Chocolate in my workbag, freebie on a mag. 'Tis rank but in an emergency I'll use it.

Twotabbycats · 09/09/2018 13:21

I came on to say Hurraw, I always recommend it but have never seen anyone else mention it... I'm glad the word is spreading!

I also like blistex in the metal tube for emergencies and the L'Occitane one in the tube.

Hands down the best is Dermal Therapy (that @Raisinbrain recommended). I'm not sure that you can get Dermal Therapy in the UK but it is honestly 100× better than anything else I have ever tried & I have tried all of the balma mentioned on this thread. Their reformulated hand balm is the business too.

FrangipaniBlue · 09/09/2018 14:40

Blistex Cream, not the cold ore version just the cheaper one for dry cracked lips

Ollivander84 · 09/09/2018 17:24

I can't remember where I first heard about the Hurraw ones but the moon balm is the only one I've tried and I'm sticking to it!

mintmagnummm · 10/09/2018 05:56

It's weird how everyone is different because I don't like hurraw at all, I tried 3 flavours and all made my lips feel dry 😏. I am very odd though 🤪

uncomfortablydumb53 · 10/09/2018 16:51

Carmex in the little pot

LellyM · 10/09/2018 16:56

I have tried most lipbalms on the market: Burts Bees, Carmex, Nivea, vaseline etc etc.

As I play the saxophone I suffer a lot with chapped lips and I have found that EOS works brilliantly. It also has a variety of nice flavours. I have the apple and vanilla and the melon ones at the moment. It really works well.
