Best lipbalm?

My lips are already getting sore with the colder weather creeping in. I've been using good old vaseline to try and prevent them from.chapping, but it's not doing the trick this time? What's the best lipbalm? I purchased a Nivea one last year but wasn't very impressed neither. Has anyone used the Burts Bees one?

Carmex

youngestisapsycho · 07/09/2018 07:32

I bought a Nuxe one in a little pot from M&S..... it’s really good.

Sparkletastic · 07/09/2018 07:32

Cicaplast Levres by La Roche Posay. Pantheons, lipides and none of the petroleum crap or irritating scents. Saw it recommended by Nadine Baggott and got if from Amazon. It's the absolute business.

SerialNameChangerMe · 07/09/2018 07:32

Carmex hands down

BretonStripe · 07/09/2018 07:32

Nuxe Reve de Miel in the little glass pot. It has a scrub like texture. I put it on last thing at night

here it is

caribari72 · 07/09/2018 07:39

Another vote for Carmex.

It contains a natural exfoliant so can get to the "sore bit" rather than than just providing a barrier.

I play a brass instrument and in the cold months we're playing outside a lot. We all use Carmex - AND it's dead cheap!

Best one I've had is o Keefes . It looks crap buy it works and now my daughters use it too. It just works brilliantly www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Glue-K0700108-Repair-Balm/dp/B07883F81W

And another vote for Carmex in a pot. I have them dotted about my house; one in the living room, one by my bed and there's a,ways one in my handbag. Only thing I like to use.

I have also been known on occasion to use it to soften my nose when I've had a cold and blown it so much it's raw. I like that tingly, slightly menthol-y feeling Grin

Blistex, in the metal tube not the white plastic one. Not sexy but very effective

Oldraver · 07/09/2018 08:48

Badger Balm. I'm not too keen on the mint or lemon but the vanilla and plain obes are brill

evilharpy · 07/09/2018 10:27

Carmex in a pot or 8 Hour Cream in the stick.

JaneR0chester · 07/09/2018 10:34

Nuxe in the pot, every night before bed - super soft lips in the morning.

Burt's Bees peppermint one during the day, best stick lip balm, lovely non-greasy texture.

Strongbeatsskinny · 07/09/2018 10:34

Another one that’s going to say Carmex I find it perfect for me lips can get extremely dry in an air con gym or in a winter while I’m out with the dogs. Use it all year round as it does have spf 15

Raisinbrain · 07/09/2018 11:02

I don't think you can buy it in the UK but Dermal Lip Therapy Balm is a total game changer. I've been a lip balm addict since school, regularly reapplying multiple times a day. I like burts bees and maybelline baby lips and neutrogena. Last year though my lips were randomly so sore and dry and I tried blistex and everything else I could find and nothing would help until the miraculous Dermal Lip Therapy Balm. I hardly even have to use it it's so good Grin

justilou1 · 07/09/2018 11:15

I am totally addicted to the Laneige lip sleeping mask in the grapefruit flavour. (The Apple & lime is second best imo). Only need to apply 2-3 times a day. It lasts for aaaaaaaages.

goose1964 · 07/09/2018 15:45

Another vote for carmex, although DH stole my last post. I also like Burt's bees which I picked up in Poundland last winter, it's a pale pink one

tierraJ · 07/09/2018 15:53

Lanolips is the only thing that works for me - because it contains a lot of lanolin.

AnneOfCleavage · 07/09/2018 18:03

DD swears by Carmex. I use the little round tins of aloe Vera Vaseline and I can't do without it. Love it and not drying at all.

Camsie30 · 07/09/2018 18:05

I swear by original chapstick

jenthelibrarian · 07/09/2018 18:17

Another vote here for Nuxe Rêve de Miel.
Not the cheapest, but lasts for ages and is the only thing that has stopped my disgusting habit of chewing off dry shreds of lip, because I don't have them any more!

RedPencil · 07/09/2018 18:27

Nivea lip balm original care. Can't go anywhere without it, I've been known to turn back in the car to go and fetch it if I've left it at home - from a significant distance away!

TheDowagerCuntess · 07/09/2018 18:54

Burt's Bees Rose tinted lip balm.

There are probably better balms out there (though I love it), but it's the perfect neutral for me as a deep winter - it's now become my everyday lip colour.

Summer15coming · 07/09/2018 19:07

Carmex

GreyHare · 07/09/2018 19:11

If they are chapped and sore then Blistex in the metal tube, but for day to day softness then EOS are great.

argumentativefeminist · 07/09/2018 19:13

Another vote for lanolips!
