Nose piercing- too old ?

Polkapjs · 06/09/2018 22:09

I’m 43. Always always wanted it - should I?
I’m contemplating new pixie hair cut too (see other thread). Will it age me or define me?

Do it! Never too old.

ToBeClear · 06/09/2018 22:28

Never too old! I re-did mine at 45 and love it!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/09/2018 23:33

I'm 52 and I'd love to have mine done but I have the wrong shape of nostrils

Polkapjs · 06/09/2018 23:36

What’s the wrong shape of nostril??

There no such thing as too old in things like this. It just doesn’t exist. Now get yourself down to a reputable body piercers and get it done!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/09/2018 00:21

My very elegant (I think) nose is quite long as are my nostrils.
Wherever a stud would go would look wring.
I used to glue little diamante studs on with nail glue when I was a teenager Grin

DD had her cartilidge pierced , the pierced showed me where a stud would go on my nose but none of the positions looked 'right'

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/09/2018 00:24

Actually , there's a really good Tattoo/Piercing salon near me , they do sessions with students , I could book myself in for one ..............

My worry would be knocking it,

ToBeClear · 07/09/2018 07:01

Lol I have a pixie, pierced nose/helix and tattoos- the latter 2 just in the past couple of years. I'm 47 and just had my pixie bleached...never too old to experiment-in fact it gets easier. I'm poppysstyle on ig if you're interested. Think about amazing women like vivienne Westwood who dresses for her regardless of age xxx

Polkapjs · 08/09/2018 13:46

Just back from having helix pierced. Baby steps...

Hair is next week. I got it wrong...

If you’ve had been he helix done, your nose will be great (and apparently heal faster!).

I’m 42 and have had 3 new piercings in tge last 2 years (all in my ears) I love them.

Polkapjs · 08/09/2018 22:06

I panicked when the guy said I might faint but it was fine. Sore when I lean on it so sleep might be difficult but I feel empowered

Ah go you OP!
Bloody go you!!

Polkapjs · 08/09/2018 22:34

Thank you Blush

Yay! There'll be no stopping you now. Your nostril will be a doddle after a helix - it just makes your eyes water a little. Helix piercings take forever to heal so be patient with it. Good for you!!

ToesInWater · 09/09/2018 09:47

I'm 55 - I had my nose pierced around 20 years ago, it's my favourite piercing. I had a helix recently, it is taking ages to heal.

ToBeClear · 09/09/2018 09:51

toesinwater I adore mine too - it's never going anywhere! Xx

DavetheCat2001 · 09/09/2018 10:54

I'm 45 and have had my nose pierced for 25 years 🤘

Needahairbrush · 09/09/2018 12:07

Go for it, I’d love this but i work in a very formal environment where it’s not really acceptable.

Polkapjs · 09/09/2018 15:28

That’s my other worry actually. Work...not sure how it would go down!

OP posts:
Polkapjs · 09/09/2018 15:28

By the way - I can slide the new helix back and forth- did it by accident - is that ok??!

OP posts:
1forsorrow2forjoy · 09/09/2018 15:32

I wouldn't wiggle it about too much, the more you leave it the quicker it will heal. I had my nose done and have no regrets (I am 41) it hurts more the older you are though because the cartilage in your body hardens so be warned.

Mabelface · 09/09/2018 15:32

Had mine done for my 48th birthday I love it. As for your helix, leave it alone!

bringincrazyback · 09/09/2018 15:38

Go for it! I'm 50 and still loving mine, which I had done at 32.

NothingWithoutEffort · 09/09/2018 16:44

Is it your forward helix OP? Share a photo 🙂!

I've got a bleached pixie cut. I love it. Do try it - if you don't like it, you can always grow it out.
