Any hairdressers around? Question about Olaplex

Hi,

I’ve been having olaplex in with my all over colour for a few years now.

On my last visit to the hairdresser they put the no.1 in the colour but didn’t do the no.2 after washing. When I asked about it they said that they only do the no.1 now.

Of course when I was paying it was the usual charge for olaplex so I asked why it was the same price it only using no.1 she said that trey use more of the no.1 so it’s the same priceHmm

Does this sound right or am I being taken for a mug?

Sorry- this is definitely not right!

Number 1 is the most expensive and most concentrated.

Numbers 2 and 3 are diluted versions of number 1.

So it depends if they are using more 1 or not really. Who knows

Not a hairdresser but I use it myself and method taken directly from the instructions Olaplex gives to hair salons.

olaplex.es/olaplex-shop/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/OLAPLEX-INSTRUCTIONS-SQ-MOSRMO.pdf

These were published February 2017. Since 1 and 2 are substantially different from a chemistry standpoint, they have been telling you porkies.

3 is a diluted version of 2 by the way.

If you're doing non-bleach colouring btw, you'll get best results doing standalone treatment completely separately from your colour process ie 1 and 2 at home (leaving 2 in overnight) and it only costs about 5 quid! Lots of hairdressers offer decants on ebay; just look for one with loads of feedback and go for it!

Thanks Badderwolf will give that a go

And thanks everyone else. Has helped make my decision to fine a new hairdresser.

The constant hard sell of products was annoying but this has just piss me right off. Bloody expensive place too Angry
