I'm 29 years old. I currently have virtually no skin care routine. All I do is use micellar water to take make up off in the evening. The only other thing I do is use Elizabeth Arden SPF50 8 hour cream in the mornings.

I want to improve my skin care regime because I want to keep my skin as youthful as possible but there are so many products and I have no idea what I need to use. Hoping there are some experts on here who can advise me 🙏🏼

Ok, basics

PM

Take off your makeup so use the micellar water if you like it

Cleanse your face - you want something not foaming or stripping. Depends on budget, look at la Roche posay toleriane cleanser, or dr Sam bunting or cerave hydrating. Massage in well, remove with a warm flannel and water

Moisturiser - cerave, la Roche posay, avene

AM

Cleanse your face with the cleanser you used the night before

Moisturiser

SPF - Frezyderm is a decent one, or biore watery essence

that's it for basics. You can add in an acid toner like pixi glow tonic at night or the nip fab acid pads. They're like a chemical exfoliate so get rid of any dead skin
You can add in a serum or an oil if you have drier skin, like a hyaluronic acid serum or an oil based one
Vitamin C is good to use in the morning

Retinol is amazing but you need the basics first and you must use SPF. The only true things for anti ageing are SPF and retinol, and retinol is always used at night

42 year old here. Never used skin products. But starting to need too :)

I have just started to use super facalister, (spelling?)

Which has cleared some milia and other spots up but I just use a face wash in the morning.

Thanks ollivander for this info. I’ve copied and pasted it to keep.

I'm 44. I wash my face most mornings with some basic face wash and warm water and then bung a bit of moisturiser on.

Never take my make up off, never wash my face in the evening.

Compared to me, your skin routine is excellent.

I need to get a grip too so I'll be watching your thread for ideas.
