Looking for some crew neck sweaters for autumn ... not particularly inspired by Boden. Where else shall I look?

I bought this from Jigsaw as I like the colour in turquoise.
www.jigsaw-online.com/product/button-back-drop-hem-sweater/J31235_BL159
Back is a bit weird- the bottom hem is very droopy. And it was too expensive. But I like the colour. So all in all Confused

Veronicat · 05/09/2018 19:23

Next have some nice ones right now.

Nanasueathome · 05/09/2018 19:23

Brora...in the sale

Ineedahouse · 05/09/2018 19:27

Leopard print primark impulse buy. I only went in for work tights.

Manderleyagain · 05/09/2018 19:28

It's worth checking out woolovers. They only do natural fibers but always have slot of styles. Online and mail order.

Polkapjs · 05/09/2018 19:34

Primary slouchy charcoal grey. Very thin but I love it and at £6 I may buy all the ones in my size!

FabulousTomatoes · 05/09/2018 19:37

I’m wearing this in last season’s navy version today:

www.arket.com/en_gbp/women/tops/product.pima-cotton-sweatshirt-red.0504993010.html

It fits so so nicely I’ll be getting a couple more in the sale!

SpeckledyHen · 05/09/2018 19:47

Uniqlo extra fine merino are superb.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/09/2018 20:58

Primark chenille in grey.
I was looking for a chenille jumper last year but they were either short'n'boxy or horrible colours or polo/cowl necked.

Happy with my jumper (not cold enough to wear it yet)

Oly5 · 05/09/2018 21:36

Yes, a bunch of stuff at White Company as the cut suits me. Prices are ridiculous

MadMaryBoddington · 05/09/2018 21:41

Pure Collection cream sweater. Ordered it online and sent it straight back because the fit was terrible.

Bluejeanz · 05/09/2018 21:57

Thanks all ... off for a google now. What is Arket like ... I haven’t heard of them?

I’ve been buying up Benetton merino knits from tkmaxx lots of lovely colours and very good price wise

CaseStudyResearch · 05/09/2018 22:36

Warehouse do the best for me. Great range of colours. I’m just waiting for the standard September 20% off, I’ve got four in my bag.

FabulousTomatoes · 06/09/2018 20:34

Sorry Bluejeanz, just seen this.

Arket is a Swedish brand that is part of the H&M group. It’s a more expensive form of H&M, a cheaper form of Cos, and a more Classic form of & Other Stories.

The quality is very good. Cuts are simple and elegant. Delivery takes a while, so I go for next day.

goose1964 · 06/09/2018 20:47

One from Primark for a fiver, lovely and soft. Today I bought one from Asda for mils birthday, it's dark with foxes on , so cute £14

teta · 06/09/2018 22:32

Arket are more expensive than Cos but not quite as sculptural.

CountFosco · 06/09/2018 22:58

I just bought the UNIQLO merino boatneck in red. Be warned, they are enormous in comparison to usual Uniqlo sizing, I'm normally an M at Uniqlo but I had to return that and get an XS to get the fit I wanted.

Elledorado · 07/09/2018 11:08

So ... sweater = jumper?

In my head, a sweater is a cotton/fleece number whereas a wool/merino/acrylic knit was a "jumper" or "knit"?

CountFosco · 07/09/2018 12:55

A sweatshirt is a cotton/fleece number.

Sweater=jumper=ganzie=pullover. Preferably made with real wool. Only fashion people talk about wearing a knit.

Elledorado · 07/09/2018 14:18

Only fashion people talk about wearing a knit?? Seriously?

I've never used the term sweatshirt however. Or ganzie (never even heard of this one!). Or pullover. Interesting!

"Preferably" made with real wool ... unless you're allergic to it, I guess, like me!

Anyway OP I'm never inspired by Boden either so can't blame you there. What style of jumper do you like or suits you? Is it for work or casual?

DontCallMeCharlotte · 07/09/2018 15:16

70isaLimitNotaTarget and anyone else...

Don't put your chenille sweater in the washing machine. I speak from bitter experience.

MadMaryBoddington · 07/09/2018 19:54

I tried on a jumper in Cos yesterday. It was nice. I didn’t buy it because I wasn’t 100% sure about the colour, but on reflection I’ll probably go back and get it.

Bluejeanz · 07/09/2018 20:00

Thanks for so many suggestions. Hope to get some time to browse online over the weekend.

Laughing at jumper - sweater - sweatshirt - knit. For me, jumper and sweater are exactly the same (wool), a sweatshirt is a casual cotton affair but not woollen, a hoodie without the hood. And I never use the word knit unless I am actually knitting something!!

@CountFosco I like that uniqlo jumper. I'm a size 10-12, do you have any advice what size I might order? I don't have a store anywhere near me to try it on.
