What to wear over jumpsuit for lunch out?

It’s a black wrap cami jumpsuit with peg leg by Asos tall.

I’m planning to wear the Zara snake sling backs with it, but don’t know what to wear over it?

I want to look great but not try-too-hard at an expensive restaurant in a city.

And do the shoes sound ok? They are not high.

Or should I wear something else altogether?

Ideas welcome

Leather jacket would look classic and fierce without looking try hard :) would also look bad ass Grin

EdithOttley · 05/09/2018 20:15

Badass is good 😂

Leather jacket if you have one !

Almondio · 05/09/2018 20:19

I'd wear a fitted denim jacket, cuffs turned back

ShootingQuadrantids · 05/09/2018 20:21

Double breasted blazer....more stylish than a leather jacket although I'm partial to a leather jacket!

EdithOttley · 05/09/2018 20:26

I have a leather jacket, a denim jacket, and a kind of open blazer jacket in pale peach (nicer than it sounds) with ruched sleeves.

And a fawn fine knit single button boxy cardigan that’s my go to not try hard item....

I’m meeting DP’s grown up son for the first time and am very nervous!

Or is this just wrong?

I don’t get out much, so just don’t know

OP posts:

blazer

I've got one like that and tend to wear a tight fitting white t-shirt under it with low or flat sandals. Maybe a more casual look than youre after though!

pepperrainbowpig · 05/09/2018 21:10

I've had that jumpsuit for four years, easily the most worn item I've ever owed as it's so versatile. I usually wear with heels and a leather jacket. Great choice!

EdithOttley · 05/09/2018 21:19

Yes, @henry and too cold for sandals here now.

Good to hear @pepparainbowpig : I would do proper heels but DP is not tall and I am 😀

I say no to the blazer, odd colour to put with black imo

Leather jacket over denim - denim is too casual for what you're describing

sirmione16 · 05/09/2018 21:30

And statement jewellery! Gold would look lovely. If you feel brave enough to do a red lip with it to take it all the way, go for it!

EdithOttley · 05/09/2018 21:35

I love a red lip. Mac Russian Red?

The blazer actually looks quite good with it, but not like my style...?

OP posts:
EdithOttley · 05/09/2018 21:36

And can I eat with my jacket on? Sartorially

OP posts:
JellieEllie · 05/09/2018 21:46

If you are going to accessorise with red lips and nails then you need a black blazer jacket or at least a cream one to match the heels you have bought.
I think your outfit is gorgeous.

IWouldLikeToKnow · 05/09/2018 21:47

I wouldn't chose the blazer, but the denim of the leather would work if they are the right length.

EdithOttley · 05/09/2018 22:07

Thanks all. The blazer just isn’t me anyway, and the denim and leather jackets both end in an ok place. Checked from behind by teenage dd 😀

OP posts:
EdithOttley · 05/09/2018 22:30

And is it suitable for the occasion?

OP posts:
sirmione16 · 06/09/2018 11:25

Yes more than suitable. Sound like you're just nervous now, go have fun OP :)
