Black Riding Boots. Classic or Frumpy?

RaggieDolls · 04/09/2018 22:28

I'm considering buying some new knee high black riding boots to wear with dresses for work.

Am I massively out of touch? All the retailers I like are picturing dresses with tan ankle boots but I'm just not sure this is smart enough for my work?

Looking at the new Duo essentials range for a perfect fit.

These look lovely - really elegant.

I love those boots but especially given the fact that they’re brown I’d personally wear them with jeans at the weekend. Without knowing your workplace dress code it’s impossible to say if they’re ok for you to wear to work really... If its fairly formal and it’s to go with smart dresses then black knee highs, proper knee highs as those hit mid calf on the model, would perhaps be better? I’ve always worked in quite dressy offices and I wear these (a couple of my coworkers also have the same ones):

Seriously considering those Duo boots for weekends, although I probably can’t justify the expense... (can I?)

Ooo! Thank you. I am keen on them but haven't had knee boots for the last couple of years.

troubled I have linked brown in error. They also come in black. I think I'm hoping they will come a bit higher on me as I will have shorter legs than the model. Work can be very formal when I'm with clients but I wouldn't wear boots at all on those occasions. A dress and flat boots is ok on desk / meeting days.

15% off... now you’re tempting me! In black I think they’d be great for work.

They've gone back to being called 'Duo'! (totally misses point of the thread)

RaggieDolls · 04/09/2018 23:26

Thank goodness wolf. It's almost as though they've realised rebranding as 'Ted and Muffy' and whacking all the prices up by 30% wasn't marketing genius after all. Grin
